Editorial Review:
After parting ways with the Sugarcubes, the Icelandic band and alt-pop/rock phenomenon she fronted to stardom, Bjork launched a spectacularly successful solo career in 1993. Her aptly titled first album Debut was a smash in the U.K., where it was NME’s Album of the Year and won her the Newcomer and International Female Solo Artist categories at that year’s BRIT Awards. In the U.S., the disc was a gold album and a #1 Billboard Heatseeker, announcing her arrival as a major new talent. This distinctive singer-songwriter’s artistry continued to evolve through an acclaimed string of adventurous albums that still sound fresh and exciting. The many sounds of Bjork’s truly distinctive dance-flavored, spirited, arty, and elegantly conceived electronic pop are a revelation on Rhino’s new DualDisc releases of seven of her classic titles.

Surrounded Reviews:
EXCELLENT! NOT THE BEST SURROUND MIX FROM HER EVEN THOUGH... 4 Star Review
2009-10-25 - OVERALL: 4.0 stars
Video quality: 4.0 stars
Audio quality: 4.0 stars
Extras: 2.0 stars
Other: The concert from Carnegie Hall was better in terms of audio mix. The dualdisc is not my preferred option. Nevertheless, the box is worth the cost.

The perfect gift for a Björk Fan. 5 Star Review
2009-09-19 - This is really a complete collection of Björk work up to date (the only CD that is missing is the Volta album).
7 CD/DVD that feature one side with the Original Stereo and feature some extra songs that are don't in the original CD like ''Play Dead'' on the Debut CD and the ''Play Dead'' video (on the DVD side of Debut), it also include a bonus song on the DVD side of Drawing Restraint 9 ''Petrolatum'' and finally there is a video for the ''making of'' of the video ''The Triumph Of A Heart''. Every CD have a DVD side that feature all the songs remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dts Surround Sound 96/24 bit that let you experience the best of all thoses songs. The Last and more important thing is the complete video collection of Björk work during theses years ! (Except Volta video because this CD is missing).

Buy it, you will never regret it.

DTS 96/24: THIS BJORK IS IN HIGH RESOLUTION FORMAT 4 Star Review
2009-02-25 - A few of you made complaints that the surround mixes are not in the high resolution. That's not true. On all "Surrounded" DVD discs you can find DTS 96/24 which is, according to my opinion, high resolution format. I have to thank to the author and to the label that they included such quality and "handy" format. SACD and DVD-A are useless - the usage of these formats is, in most cases, somehow blocked or restricted therefore we (as a users) cannot fully enjoy the high resolution on such discs.

DTS 96/24 bit is the great format and it is a shame that is not used more frequently.

When can I have more music in DTS 96/24? WHEN?!

One star is missing just because on my version DTS 96/24 did not work on Vespertine disc otherwise I would give full five stars for the form and for the content. Well done.

Explanation of DTS 96/24:

"DTS 96/24 offers a higher quality level on multi-channel audio (up to 5.1 channels) for standard DVDs. The "96" refers to a 96kHz sampling rate (compared to the typical 48kHz sampling rate.) The "24" refers to 24-bit depth, compared to 16-bit depth used for CD sound, which means there is more audio information present. Like the other DTS extensions, DTS 96/24 is backward-compatible (older receivers will output a standard 48kHz signal).

The higher sampling rate of 96KHz captures super-high frequencies, which have harmonic overtones that drift down into your hearing spectrum. This delivers a more realistic ambient sound-field effect; when listening to music, it's like you're right there with the musicians. And during a movie, the dialogue is so clear, the actors seem to be in the room with you. Plus, 24-bit depth (vs. typical 16-bit) provides extended dynamic range, on a level with professional audio. When played back on a DTS 96/24 capable receiver, DTS 96/24 content delivers better frequency response, tonal accuracy, and dynamic range. "

Bjork in 5.1, Need I say more! 5 Star Review
2008-08-06 - Bjork in 5.1, need I say more! Her beautiful music in all it's glory coming at you from 6 speakers. If you are new to Bjork this box set is a bargain. Rather than purchase her albums individually, you get them all here, re-mastered in 5.1 & DTS for a pretty good price. If you are already a fan, then you need this. Each album features the original sound in stereo on one side and the entire album again in DTS & 5.1 on the other. If that is not enough for you, each disc also includes the videos from each release (also in 5.1) and a very entertaining behind the scenes look at the making of `triumph of a heart." The music sounds fantastic and I think it's awesome that the art work and packaging of each disc has not changed. My only gripe with this set is that there is nothing to look at while the music (DVD side) is playing. Bjork's duel disc version of her latest release (Volta) displays various promo shots in a slideshow while each track plays. This would have been an awesome addition to an otherwise excellent collection.

A Bjork Must-Have 5 Star Review
2008-02-08 - Not since Kate Bush have I been so impressed with a singer/performer like Bjork. She brings passion and pure joy to everything she touches. This box set is a must (and it includes DVDs of her videos). But Bjork is best experienced live - get all of her DVD concerts! That is where she truly shines. I especially recommend the Royal Opera House DVD.
