An excellent introduction for one of the bands that set the standard for heavy metal. We Sold Our Soul for Rock & Roll features the original lineup of Black Sabbath, including Ozzy Osbourne on vocals; the songs are selected from the band's recordings up through 1975. The album features several classic songs, several of which are still on rock radio play lists: "Paranoid," "War Pigs," "Iron Man," and the ballad "Changes." There's also the humorous "Fairies Wear Boots," the vaguely psychedelic "Am I Going Insane," and the dark, macabre "Black Sabbath" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath." Most Sabbath fans will already have the albums from which the songs on this collection are taken. However, for the listener new to Sabbath, it's the perfect place to start. --Genevieve Williams

Amazing CD 
2009-03-30 - This CD is amazing, if you don't know much of Black sabbath's music, then getting this CD is the perfect way to get to know their best. A perfect addition to a rock-lover's music library...
Missing a few essentials, but overall excellent...
2009-03-30 - Aside from buying all the individual albums or a huge anthology set, you're not going to do better than this collection here. If you have to pick only one album to buy, this is the one.
Of course, if you're a true fan, you have all the albums on LP and are only buying this because the records keep skipping in the car...

THE BEST GREATEST HITS ALBUM TO BUY OF BLACK SABBATH
2009-02-06 - This is a very good compilation from Black Sabbath , it contains alot of great songs , plus unlike the greatest hits album that came out in 2006 this contains the full version of Iron Man , so don't be fooled into buying that crumby greatest hits album , buy this and have the best , highly recommended.
Best of Black Sabbath's little brother...
2009-01-17 - If there was a mini version of "Best of" Black Sabbath, I feel like this would be it. Great album.
Great Sabbath Collection
2008-04-15 - This is a great start for those who want a collection of some of the best songs by Ozzy with Sabbath. All of the essentials are here and the recording quality is good. However, this is not a full range of great songs by Ozzy with Black Sabbath: there are many such as ' Hole In The Sky' and 'The Writ' from Sabotage; 'Lord Of This World' from Master of Reality; etc. The list is endless. Great intro to early Sabbath and Ozzy but not the end all of best songs by them. Check this one out and then explore.
