Editorial Review:
A few new wrinkles mark this attempt to elevate Blake Shelton from promising hitmaker into the upper echelon of country hunks. While veteran producer Bobby Braddock, who has previously served as Shelton's studio mentor, handles four tracks, Brent Rowan and Paul Worley give more edge and sheen to some of the others. The closing "The Last Country Song," an anti-sprawl anthem, features brief cameos from George Jones and Jon Anderson. And Shelton collaborates on the writing of three key tracks, including the harder-rocking, hicker-than-thou "This Can't Be Good," the kickoff track. Yet Shelton's strength remains his ability to balance romantic balladry--such as "I Don't Care," which employs the same phone-call reversal as his "Austin" breakthrough"--with good-ol'-boy honky-tonk ("The More I Drink"). And his rendition of Chris Knight's "It Ain't Easy Bein' Me" highlights the selection of consistently strong material. --Don McLeese

Pure BS Reviews:
Why isn't he huge? 5 Star Review
2009-11-06 - Great cover of a Chris Knight tune. More I Drink is a great bar tune. Think the CMAs are missing out here. Deserves more mainstream stardom. Good tune-smith.

Love Blake!! 5 Star Review
2009-09-07 - I love to just listen to Blake - his easy style lets you play it in the background or really listen to it. My husband likes Blake and he is not a "new" country fan (he likes all the real oldies) He likes Blake because he can hear and understand the words, not blurred, blended to the point of guessing at the words. I just love Blake and can listen to him all day and work on my computer. The first time I really heard him was several years ago and he reminded me a little (at that time and the song, which I can't remember the name now) of Conway Twitty. I only wish Blake all the best and much success!! Keep the hits coming -One of the favorites is "The More I Drink"

Pure BS 5 Star Review
2009-01-21 - Pure BS is Pure Bliss. Listen to it when i go to sleep, travelling to work, and in the background when I'm working. Doesn't push country down the throats of those who won't even think pass hip hop, rap and any other genres. As a secret country and western lover for many years this is one CD i don't mind putting on in the car when my friends are on board.

Love it!!!! 4 Star Review
2008-12-15 - I love this cd. I only wish I would have bought the deluxe addition to get the extra song "home".

Love Blake Shelton! 5 Star Review
2008-09-24 - What can I say, I have four of his albums and I love them all! I can't think of one song on ANY of the CD's that I don't like. I've seen him live, twice, and he's just as good in person. Puts on a great show. I just about wore out all of his CD's as I've played them over and over. I turned all three of my girls into Blake Shelton fans.

I look forward to any new CD's he has coming out in the future. Blake is one of those artists that you don't need to hear any of the song before you buy them. You know you won't be disappointed.

Oh, did I mention he's cute?
