Drummer Winston Watson performed 400 shows with Bob Dylan over five years, traveling the world 10 times over. Watson energized Dylan fans and Bob Dylan himself with his joyful and dynamic drumming style, as he helped launch Dylan's "Never Ending Tour" in 1992 that continues to this day.
Winston Watson chronicled his incredible 5-year journey with Bob Dylan in daily personal diaries and in home video footage with his Video 8 camera. Now Watson shares it all in a never-before-told insider account, revealing behind-the-scenes details of the thrilling and challenging journey as drummer for the legendary Bob Dylan. A skilled storyteller, Watson paints an intimate portrait of Bob Dylan's band, life on tour, Dylan's music, and the mercurial, brilliant Bob Dylan himself.

Watson lived a "rock and roll dream" as celebrity guests joined Dylan on stage, including Bruce Springsteen, George Harrison, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Santana, and The Grateful Dead. However, Van Morrison's appearances would prove fatal to the journey of the unknown drummer from Arizona.
From his unlikely story of joining Dylan's band, to rehearsals, stadiums, MTV Unplugged, and Woodstock '94, to the hardship of family separation, Watson holds nothing back, inviting us along on his incredible journey from continent to continent as a warrior in Bob Dylan's "Never Ending Band."

In this in-depth, often humorous portrayal of his years with Dylan, Winston Watson emerges as an ordinary guy who experienced the extraordinary. Bob Dylan Never Ending Tour Diaries is the personal tale of a starry-eyed drummer who reached the mountain top, and how it changed him forever!

Bob Dylan Never Ending Tour Diaries: Drummer Winston Watson's Incredible Journey Reviews:
Not much Dylan 2 Star Review
2009-10-26 - The drummer for Dylan is a trip. But I guess because of licensing, you won't see or hear Dylan much. Nice perspective from a drummer who wanted to play the tunes the way he had learned them off the albums. Dylan of course wants to play them differently each time he performs them. The drummer is now in a Dylan cover band where he can play the tunes the way they were on the albums.

Very entertaining, regardless if you're a Dylan fan. 5 Star Review
2009-07-09 - You do not have to be a hard-core Dylan fanatic to enjoy this quirky and endearing documentary. Anybody who loves classic rock music and ever fantasized of living a rock'n'roll lifestyle, surrounded by modern-day living legends, can certainly relate to Winston Watson's personal adventure. He reminds me of the main character in the movie "Almost Famous", where he must act as if he really belongs in this fantasy world, but, in reality, is just a star-struck fan at heart. BTW: I happen to be one of those hardcore Dylan fanatics, so the subject matter was of special interest to me. Be that as it may, I would suggest, don't be a kill-joy. Don't expect a thorough deconstruction of Dylan's art and meaning in popular culture. That's not what this documentary is about. Watch it from standpoint of that star-struck kid and allow yourself to go along for the ride.

Welcome to Groupiedom 3 Star Review
2009-04-16 - Yes, Winston's kind of cute and tells a good story, imitating Dylan and cracking himself up. But you have to be a real groupie to like this. (I am, and I did.) But don't expect to see or hear Dylan, outside of a few soundless fan home movies on stage. Interesting tour and band stories, but so is Mickey Jones' home movies from the 1966 Tour. If you liked that, you'll like this. Not sure how the drummers keep selling these stories, or why Amazon isn't linking the Mickey story, which is now only $9.99.

Plain spoken rememberance 5 Star Review
2009-02-28 - Just finished watching this. Very honest personable account of Winston's time on the "Slow Train". He comes across in a manner which is respectful of his former boss and very entertaining to listen to. Go Winston!

    Terrific 5 Star Review
2009-02-23 - Excellent glimpse into the art and tour of Bob Dylan via one of his touring drummer's eyes. Watson very open and honest; insight into the world and speed of the musician's muse.
