Editorial Review: Studio: Uni Dist Corp (music) Release Date: 08/23/2005 The Legend Live Reviews: Excellent live Bob Marley offering, with one flaw.... 2009-11-16 - I love this dvd, but the overmodulation of the audience applause was a bit overwhelming. Whoever engineered the audio aspect of this dvd obviously didn't know that they were doing, because it was irritating at best. It gets a little old having to turn the volume down between practically every song on this dvd, but the performances themselves were excellent. I would definitely recommend this one over some of the more sketchy Bob Marley offerings, but "Live at the Rainbow" is clearly head and shoulders above the rest.
Great Footage 2009-09-15 - This is a great DVD, my husband thought he had all of the good Bob Marley dvd's and was skeptical when I ordered this one. But this is a goodie, you won't be disappointed.
Great show, Bad Video quality 2009-03-05 - This is probably one of the greatest video capture of Bob Marley. I have a laserdisc copy that completely blows away the DVD in terms of video quality. Its full screen, super sharp resolution and almost feels like you are there. I am wondering what happened during the duping/ mastering process for the DVD release. Someone did a terrible injustice to such great content.
Bob Marley and the Wailers turn it out 2009-01-25 - the kind of concert footage for any fan of Bob Marley that will cherish and feel from jump. all of the main cuts and the band is bringing it from start to finish. there are other features such as interviews and comments which are cool. i enjoyed and played it over and over again. a must for any fan of Bob Marley.
I love the Bowl! 2008-12-02 - Having seen a dozen or so shows at the Santa Barbara Bowl that is part of the intrigue for me. I really like it primarily because Survival was my first exposure to Marley in the early 80's,and has remained my favorite album. This show is heavy on Survival songs. That is one factor that might make some fans not so enthusiastic about this show. Survival is not considered one of his best albums. The music here is dominated by percussion and horns, other instruments seem to be buried in the mix. On the very positive side, the editing is clearly focused on Marley. Very little jumping around, so you get the feeling of watching the concert, unlike many concert films from the seventies. Great backing vocals. Incredible weather for late November, it looks like summer.
