    Salem's Lot Reviews:
BEST OF THE VAMPIRE GENRE 5 Star Review
2009-12-15 - One of the BEST made for TV movies - EVER!!! I saw this as a young teenager in the 70's...IT SCARED ME SH@TLESS!!! So what if it doesn't stick with the book 100%, this is right up there with the great vampire flicks of all time. Who needs a bunch of posers splashing holy water around and arterial spray every few minutes?!? You don't need it because James Mason is acting his butt off with the rest of the cast!! YOU'LL BE SORRY IF YOU MISS THIS!!! As good as "The Night Stalker" with Darrin McGavin...you have to love the 70's!
This movie is a MUST HAVE for any lover of classic horror!!!

    Salem's Lot 5 Star Review
2009-09-04 - The price was right and I really enjoyed this Movie years ago. I was happy to find it, because I thought it might have been out of print. I have always enjoyed Vampire Movies, and David Soul. Great combination! Really good movie. But most important of all, it is based on the Novel by none other then Stephen King. If you really want to watch a really scary Movie about Vampires, then this is your Movie! Enjoy!!

Salem's Lot (1979)-A disco memory from 1979! 4 Star Review
2009-07-16 - Salem's Lot (1979)- I recently rewatched the original Salem's Lot which many of us saw on TV in 1979. I still feel that all of King's TV mini-series run too long and make the story a little slow moving as did this thriller.

It was still good and I rate it at four stars. The thing I noticed during my review and after not seeing this film for many years was how very dated the long hair and "disco" style costumes appeared. The more extreme the style of clothing is, the more dated it looks later when out of style. Still, it does help us estimate the time the story was supposed to take place.

The make up appears to have been inspired by that of the fine old German silent film "Nosferatu". This make up was very effective, frightening and otherworldly. The story was all Steven King and original.

Drives me Mental 5 Star Review
2009-07-13 - Salem's Lot is by far one of the scariest movies i have ever seen. I couldn't even finish the movie. I got to about half way and turned it off, but i find myself wanting more! I have been looking for this movie on the internet for a while and are happy to find it on amazon AND on dvd (thank you amazon).
This movie isn't a jumpy type of movie but more of just getting to you mentally. It's old so therefore has old effects but the corniness of the effects shouldn't trick you into thinking that the movie will be less scary. If possible it almost makes it more scary.
Well, the creepy vampire boy knocking on the bedroom window was enough to get me hooked on this tv movie and scare me out of my witts. I'm 14 and have to sleep with my blinds down!
Great fun movie, for viewers of 15 or older, watch in daylight, and throughout the movie keep saying, "it's only a movie"

    Displeased 1 Star Review
2009-04-19 - When I placed my order with you all it showed that I was buying the 1974 version of Salem's Lot, the one I wanted. When it was delivered it was the 1994 version with Rob Lowe
