Editorial Review: Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 10/06/2009 Run time: 26 minutes Rating: Nr Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas [Blu-ray] Reviews: "The Grinch hated Christmas, the whole Christmas season." 2009-12-15 - ". . . Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. Or it could be that his head wasn't screwed on just right. But I think that the most likely reason of all is that his heart was two sizes too small."
And that's maybe the reason why the Grinch makes Ebenezer Scrooge look like Elmo. This is absolutely one of the greatest Christmas classics to have ever been created. The plot is simple: the Grinch hates Christmas, so he decides to steal it away from the townsfolk. The animation is quite above average compared to others, but I don't think that's the point. I do admire the animation here even if it isn't really that great, but the story of the Grinch is what I admire most about the film. This is a tale about the uselessness of greed and the true meaning of Christmas. The film itself is excellent. It's half an hour long, but it never feels rushed. It has some very humorous moments, as well as some astonishing voice work from Boris Karloff. The only minor problem I have with this film is the song that's sung by the citizens of Whoville, which can get a bit annoying (but at least it's not THAT annoying). Overall, everyone must see How the Grinch Stole Christmas during the holiday season. It's a lovable Dr. Seuss adaptation will make you feel warm and comfortable during this final month of the year.
Great movie 2009-12-13 - The video transfer looked great to my wife and I. These other reviews that say the transfer was all over the place in color must have been due to an older version. Our copy we just received looks great.
what is up with with the color? 2009-12-12 - horrible version, the color is awful. I mean like easter egg vomit color. Its so bad I can't watch it without getting a headache. I am actually going to buy a version from 1998 and sell the "remastered" version.
blu-ray discs are a rip off 2009-12-06 - This show is not in 1080p as the package claims. I returned it & bought the DVD version and the picture quality is much better and it fits the whole screen.
Even A Grinch Can Shine! 2009-12-01 - Hey, great Christmas classic, originated way back in 1965 with the master of horror, Boris Karloff, doing the excellent voice-acting.
The Grinch was originally penned by Dr. Suess, who was the major of major children's writers -- who can forget green eggs and ham, eh?
The Grinch wants to destroy Christmas, thinking it's the tree, the bells, the toys and the music that make Christmas. What a surprise when he finds this is not true. Though I've watched this for the last forty years or so, the tale is timeless.
Christmas begins with "we".
