Editorial Review:
This gift book for anyone who filled a father's role by choice is a reminder that being a father is far more than just biological, it's a relationship.
He Didn't Have to Be is a tender salute to a stepfather who becomes a loving dad to a child even though he "didn't have to be" one. And as the child - now grown and a new father - considers the birth of his own baby, the new father hopes that he is "at least half the dad that his stepfather didn't have to be."
Written by CMA award winning and Grammy nominated Brad Paisley and songwriter Kelley Lovelace, and including a CD of the popular song, He Didn't Have to Be will be a much-given gift this holiday season and again at Father's Day.
He Didn't Have To Be Reviews:
Brad Paisley does it again!
2005-08-28 - This is one of Brad Paisley's best songs yet. I think it tells the story of many step dads. They are often over looked as the "real" fathers they are. I recommend this to all.
been there
2003-01-15 - this tells the true story of every childs life that has been raised by their step-father when there real father didnt want them.my sons real father didnt want him or me either so my husband became my sons dad when he was 2 yrs old.
Wonderful Idea for Recognizing Stepfathers
2001-10-05 - I consider this idea to be long overdue. Stepfathers
who are filling the shoes that were long absent in
a childs life are so deserving of praise and
thanks.
This book shows that there are dedicated, caring men
out there who will step up to the plate and hit a
home run for a young man or woman.
Thanks to Brad Paisley and Kelley for this book.
