Who Needs Pictures/It Never Woulda Worked Out Reviews:
Most outstanding album heard in a long time.
1999-08-14 - In my experience, I have favorite songs on every CD I own. And on each CD there are normally a couple if not several songs I could go without hearing and usually skip over. This is the first album I can recall owning that I don't skip over ANY songs. I believe every song on this CD has the potential of being a hit. There is such a range of emotions in the songs and they are so well written by an obviously wonderful artist who is genuinely in tune with his emotions and not afraid to share them with his audience. I think Brad Paisley is going to be one of the greatest country artists of all time and I wish him the best. Country music should be grateful to have him.
We all need pictures
1999-05-27 - The first time I heard this song, it reminded me of a relationship I used to be in. It has been a long time since a song has moved me the way this song has done. Brad- If you read these reviews, thanks for helping me remember a very special relationship. I will certainly buy your album. Good Luck!
Real country music!
1999-05-20 - What a great song! It is not fluff like that stupid Shane Minor song. It is the kind of song that will you will always remember the hook. I hope the rest of this album is a good as this song!
Triple threat! Singer, songwriter and monster picker.
1999-05-09 - I had the extreme pleasure of working as a steel player for Brad on 40 plus demos of his, and a portion of his soon to be released CD, "Who Needs Pictures". He is one of the most unassuming, genuinely sincere, young man I've ever met. I've played pedal steel for 25 years and I've never worked for anyone as talented. Watching him record guitar tracks was absolutely phenomenal. In 1995 when I began working with Brad I knew then that he was one of the very, very few who has what it takes to be a major success in Nashville over the long haul.
For his debut album, Brad wrote or co-wrote every song on it as well as played every guitar part! This is almost unheard of on a debut album. The label must think pretty highly of him to permit this.
Brad's music is so diverse that you'll find yourself crying, laughing, and really listening to his superb vocals and wonderful guitar playing (check out "The Nervous Breakdown").
BTW, Brad is a fine example of a sincere Christian and had a direct influence on me.
If you like what you hear on this album, be assured that there is plenty more where this came from. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
Next Years CMA Award Winner!!!!(new artist category)
