  • Editorial Review:
The Devil's never been so hot or hilarious! Brendan Fraser is a hapless, love-starved computer technician who falls prey to sinfully sexy Elizabeth Hurley when he agress to sell her his soul in exchange for seven wishes. But the sly Princess of Darkness has more than a few tricks up her... sleeve. And before you can say Fire and Brimstone, Elliot's life becomes a hysterical hell on earth.

    Description of Bedazzled:
Brendan Fraser stars in Bedazzled as Elliot, a dweebish office worker who yearns for Alison (played by Frances O'Connor from Mansfield Park), a coworker who barely knows he exists. When he blithely says he'd give his soul for Alison, the Devil appears (Elizabeth Hurley, Austin Powers) and says she'll give him seven wishes in exchange. Elliot is dubious at first, but agrees out of desperation. Unfortunately, his every wish always leaves the Devil a little wiggle room. When he asks to be rich and powerful, the Devil turns him into a drug lord beset on all sides. When he asks to be a successful, well-endowed writer, the Devil adds a male lover to the mix. The setup and situations are clever, though Bedazzled doesn't delve into any real moral or theological questions and has a little less bite than the original it's based on (from 1968, starring Dudley Moore and Peter Cook). But it does provide some better comic substance than Fraser has had in most of his previous roles (George of the Jungle, Encino Man). Fraser demonstrated in Gods and Monsters that he could hold his own dramatically with the likes of Brit thespian Ian McKellen, and he's consistently been a charming presence in movies enjoyable (The Mummy) and not so enjoyable (Dudley Do Right). Bedazzled may not give him any more movie-making clout, but it does give his fans something to enjoy. O'Connor is entirely pleasant in her largely straight role, and Hurley fills out her part by delectably filling out a number of revealing outfits. An enjoyable bit of froth. --Bret Fetzer

    Bedazzled Reviews:
A wonderful story about desire gone awry! 5 Star Review
2008-09-28 - Brenden Fraiser (Elliot Richards) and Elizabeth Hurley (The Devil) become a dynamic duo in this thrilling romantic comedy! What would you give for seven "utterly fabulous" wishes? Your one, "overrated," "piddling little soul," perhaps? If you got them, what would you do with them? Wish for power? Fame? The Presidency? The one woman that you've always wanted but who never noticed you? This is one, sexy, scandalous comedy that you cannot miss!

Seven wishes? I only need one and it's Elizabeth Hurley! 4 Star Review
2008-08-28 - I recorded this movie on my DVR mainly because it was in HD and I had never gotten around to seeing it. It was really a pleasant surprise. I am not a fan of Brendan Fraser by any means, but he pulled off a bunch of characters and showed more of an acting range than I knew he had. The real star of the show is the devil herself. Elizabeth Hurley looks amazing in her many (and I do mean many) sexy outfits. Her face and body alone are worth watching for the 90 minutes, but her acting holds up good as well.

Bedazzled isn't a great movie, or even a really good one, but there is enough humor and eye candy to keep almost anyone entertained.

    3 and 1/2 out of 5 stars

This Is Such A Good Movie 5 Star Review
2008-08-10 - Let's be honest for a second; Brendan Fraser isn't exactly known as the worlds best actor and with that being said, this is the movie for him. It's silly and just requires someone to take on a few different roles withing the same movie. Bedazzled has always been one of my favourite movies as I'm a fan of silly comedy that at least has a point. The point of this movie? Well, I'm not really sure but I know there's one in there somewhere. After all, if you have a movie where the devil is played by one of the sexiest women in the world, there has to be a message in that movie. I'm thinking the scene set in the classroom in which Satan is a sexy teacher with a fetching belt... Sorry skirt.

Back to the movie. Fraser plays Elliot Richards, a lovable loser who really needs to catch a break. He's after the heart of one of his co-workers, Alison (Frances O'Connor) ((I know, she's terrible)) she doesn't notice him and probably doesn't even realise he exists. Elliot decides that the only way in which he can get Alison is to sell his soul to the devil. The only real problem is, that Satan is sexy, not just sexy but smoking hot. I guess that could be called ironic. The Devil's played by Liz Hurley by the way. Instead of just taking his soul for Alison, she instead offers him 7 wishes which place him in crazy situations that all give him the opportunity to win Alison over. He becomes a Basketball superstar, a drug lord and a gay academic.

This is a really good movie with effects that are done very well indeed. The scene in particular when he's a 7 foot basketball player really display the skill of the special effects team. I loved this movie and had some really great comic moments that I think everyone will enjoy.

Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

    So funny!!!! 5 Star Review
2008-03-26 - When I watched this movie for the first time, I was convinced that it was one of the best laugh-out-loud movies in the movie aisle!!!! Elizabeth Hurley is the perfect Devil, and Brendan her perfect naive victim! With all of the funny scenes and the sexual innuendo, at the end there is a moral!!!!! Check this movie out!

*Devil Of A Good Time!* 5 Star Review
