Disaster caught on film! 2008-05-23 - I love Britney's early works, but she has gone BAD downhill. Now, I think she tried to compete with Nick & Jessica's "Newlyweds" maybe because she was jealous of the attention they got for their relationship. Britney loves and hates the limelight. This show shows just how far she's fallen. I don't think Britney has ever truly been happy (all blame points to her stagemom of a mother). She does not love to sing, but loves to dance which is why she lipsyncs. She loves attention, but hates disapproval. Poor Britney tried to show herself as a "normal person", but she displayed herself as a very lowclass skank. Her now ex-husband, K-Fed, just fed the flame because he has never and never will be classy. Britney needs a positive guidance in her life. She's stuck in a childlike state and she needs help. No one has taught her how to grow up or shown her any bit of good influence. Britney Spears is the perfect example of how children go bad...and it's because they aren't given the right direction or advice. Maybe it's because she's not looking to the right person.
Britney & Kevin DVD 2008-04-22 - Britney and Kevin: Chaotic is a great set for the die-hard Britney fans like myself. You get a chance to see some Britney's personality and how silly she can be. Not to mention, you get to meet Kevin and see what he's like. It also includes a lot of bonus material with videos, making of videos, and extra segments of Britney and Kevin.
Chaos 2008-03-03 - I was really disappointed in this dvd. It was not Chaotic at all! Very boring and poor camera work. I wanted to see crazy Britney at her best. No wonder this series was canceled. Not even worth it to a reality show and Britney junkie like me.
The Best Part : This is 3 Hours Long 2008-01-14 - Well, you would think a DVD of this sort defeats the purpose of bashing it. Truth be told, yes, it IS awful and trashy, but its also very, very interesting.
There are six episodes here, each about twenty minutes long. It chronicles how Britney met Kevin and the entire Onyx Hotel European Tour. Personally I think that was Britney's worst tour and the footage doesn't do her any favors - she had already gained some weight here, and this was before she had any kids. Whats worse, is watching Britney and Kevin laze around in tank tops and spout such intelligence such as : "I'm scared to love you, because you're scared to love me... and that makes me scared to love you". More such riches follow, with Kevin making a video tape all his own for Britney where he breaks down and whimpers : "Britney, if you watch this, I want you to know I care. I really care".
If that sort of thing is your bag, then by all means get this. I found it tacky, weird, but very, very illuminating. The reason why Britney Spears is such a trainwreck is revealed here, and the answer is that she surrounds herself with retards/psychos/users who are extremely unintelligent and ill-spoken. Her 'personal assistant' Felicia is an unattractive and clueless woman who spends hours speaking of her 'loneliness' and her 'favorite sexual position'. As if this wasn't bad enough, we have the token gay hairdresser giving us his enlightened views on commitment and marriage (?). I kid you not. Then we have Britney and Kevin following each other with cameras trying to get romantic reactions from each other. There is a bizarre green-light shot of the two sharing their first kiss, and it is even more unsightly than the Paris Hilton tape.
The series ends with the extremely classless wedding. Kevin lounges about in his overalls while Britney wears her wedding dress. Her parents haven't been told about the wedding and you can see their displeasure when they are brought to the venue and the news is broken to them. We are introduced to Kevin's friends - a useless duo of everything that is wrong with Eminem times twelve. Then Britney's younger sister comes in and starts crying, and the two take their vows.
The bonus features, if we must, is a 'Making Of' for Britney's flop single "Someday I Will Understand" (a really bad song, by the way). The video is included too, as well as the video for "Do Something". Jive Records also decided to add on a CD here featuring the Series Theme Song "Chaotic" (not as bad as you'd think), and the sickly "Mona Lisa". I can see why they had the good sense not to include this on a regular Britney release.
I actually bought this DVD, because there have been times Britney has entertained me, and I thought her new album "Blackout" was spectacular due to just one standout track ("Heaven on Earth"). However, watching this made me lose whatever remaining respect I had for her. This was perhaps the first time I had seen her without makeup and she was so plain and unattractive that I was left wondering what the big deal was anyway. Not to mention the extra weight, the potty mouth, and her constant smoking on camera (there is nothing more ugly).
Britney doesn't need to give you more reasons to dislike her, but all bias apart, this DVD is a fascinating slice of her life, as its completely shot by her and Kevin, and it reveals to you why she is now the jaded, mentally unstable person she is. If that sort of thing would be interesting to you, this is worth a rental.
If you're thinking of getting this just for the bonus CD, my advice would be to skip it. There is nothing there that would merit a purchase.
