Do Something Pt.1 Reviews:
Do Somethin'
2006-01-01 - I really like the song, it's really catchy. The video is great too, check these reviews:
Britney made her directorial debut with the music video for "Do Somethin'," though she had assistance from previous Spears collaborator Billie Woodruff ("Born to Make You Happy," "Overprotected"). Britney requested that she be credited as "Mona Lisa" for the video, her apparent alter-ego for when she yells and gets angry.
After an opening scene in which the camera takes the audience through a metal tunnel leading up to a door reading "Mona Lisa," we find Spears and her crew performing a dance routine. Next, the girls make their way into Britney's pink hummer and drive among the clouds in the sky. As it turns out, their location is a club named Hole in the Wall. Once at the club, Spears and friends attempt to liven things up by dancing suggestively, seeing as everyone there besides them are stiffs. Following their dancing, they get up on stage and toy with the guys at the bar. The ending of the video has Spears singing at a microphone with her friends as her band.
-----------------
With Britney disappearing from everything but the gossip columns as she "takes a break" from the music scene and gets shacked up with hubby Kev, this release has a fusty whiff of the posthumous about it. Luckily, it's the kind of full-on pop explosion which blows away the cobwebs and is almost (almost - let's not get too excited) as good as Toxic. Ok, so it's not entirely convincing to hear Britney singing a consciously "street" styled "Why dontcha do su-hin?", but there's sass by the bucketload and more hooks and snappy beats in these few minutes than in the entire back catalogue of lumpy old Jennifer Lopez.
I LOVE BRITNEY
2005-08-28 - HOWEVER........................This CD single is absolutely crap. The song itself is really good, but the tracklisting is awful. You only get ONE audio song, which is "Do Somethin'" itself. The other two tracks are videos, but when you use them on your computer, they don't come out very well. Um...DVD FORMAT SUGGESTED?
Tracklisting:-
01 Do Somethin'
02 Do Somethin' - Video
03 Megamix - Video
I love this new song but Britney Clam Down Please!
2005-03-29 - I really like this song but Britney really needs to go back to her own self. she is living a great big lie.....
The END is near?
2005-03-22 - What can be said about the pop princess but that the end is near. Britney's "Do Something" is her latest attempt to recapture her success from the late 90's as the next Madonna, but clearly her vocal chords due to maybe to many cigarettes and her booze consumption has left her to resort to voice backing of keyboards and other studio tricks that made the 80's a fun place not to be a singer in order to be a hit. Bottom line buy this cd single just for the so purpose of saying i know were i was when i bought this piece of crap.
