    Life: Season Two Reviews:
NBC pulls the plug on a Great Orginaly Show! 5 Star Review
2009-12-19 - Currently in the 2009-2010 TV Season I have spent any TV time on rentals and watching Bravo, because they air The West Wing, the greatest show ever, However Life was a close second as this was a great show that did not depend on usual stereotypes and tired plots. I was first exposed to Life when one long Sunday I watched a Fall preview show in 2007, and the preview for life blew me away, that and Daiman Lewis is not bad to look at, I love red heads. However, the show plot is what is the most intriguing. A LAPD cop arrested for killing the family of his best friend in a bar they co-owned, he was jailed for 12 years, and lost everything his wife, life, home, and his reputation, and job. The shows title is metaphoric for the main character Charlie Crews (Lewis), Life is what he was sentenced to, then life is what he got back, this is a line I have mis quoted from the pilot.

The shows first season was only a few episodes, Charlie's partners, after he returns to the LAPD as a Detective, his only request was to get his job back. The other unique points of the show are that Charlie is in a zen life daze and solves stuff by wondering silly stuff, he lives in an empty home with his prison pal Ted who was their on white collar charges. The difference between season 1 and season 2 is season 1 is a bit darker, and season two has dealt with the issues of Charlie's past and who set him up, and those in the police force who want him gone, so the show turns to wacky comments by Charlie and the sarcastic comeback of Dani Reese his partner. What I liked about the show was that his partner is not this model like, ten foot blond in mile high heels, and platinum blond hair, who is troubled, boo hoo. She is instead a the recovering alcoholic, half white half Persian cynic, she's a complex character that is interesting to watch. The shows weekly plot was the solving of crime and later Charlie dealing with his new life, and solving the puzzle as to why he was set up. That and the expensive cars he buys like a Bentley, which he listens to his Zen tapes in as he goes I am not attached to this car, all his cars end up shot or totaled, he also gets a 50 million dollar settlement.

Ted falls in love with Charlie's father's finance, the Charlie discovered that his best friends daughter survived, he spends the remainder of the season tiring to reconnect with her. Dani begins dating her supervisor. Gabrille Union is cast as a temporary partner for Charlie while Dani suppository interviews for the FBI.The show continues with crime solving only this time the story lines continue into to other episodes and the criminals are connected. Also the "why Charlie was sent to jail is kind of reviled. Donal Logue is my favorite season 2 addition as Dani's boy friend who is keeping track of her like a parent which is so funny. One of the sadder parts of the show is that the show ended its second season with a cliff hanger of the possible romance between Charlie and Dani after he rescues her, their were never any indicators that Dani and Charlie were going to be an item however the finally somewhat hinted at this. But none the less life was a great show and will leave an empty slot in my Monday, no Wednesday, oh wait was it Friday, oh well I can't remember as the shows time slot changed a lot. Hey, NBC maybe thats why it got canceled

MUST BUY! Best crime show of the year 5 Star Review
    2009-12-07 - What a great show!
BEST SEASON ENDING (of a crime TV show) OF THE DECADE!
All the other writers for TV can learn here how it`s really done....

There is no life without Life & Damien Lewis! 5 Star Review
2009-12-03 - I have both Season's One & Two and love them. I was very disappointed that NBC let this series and Damien Lewis slip through their fingers. Are they crazy? Out of all the British actors now performing in American television, he is one of the best. I first saw him in "Band of Brothers" and couldn't believe that he wasn't an American actor.
I was hooked. Then by sheer luck, I was watching Masterpiece Theatre a few weeks later and saw him in the "Forsyte Saga" (Series one and Series two), and was mesmerized by his talent. He mostly performs in dramas but in "Life" he was able to show his comedic chops. Too bad for American TV and me. I highly recommend this series, "Band of Brothers",and "Forsyte Saga" One and Two. Am I a Damien Lewis fan? You betcha!

    Life 2 5 Star Review
2009-12-03 - I loved the show "Life". Sorry they took it off the air. This DVD arrived in good time and it was in perfect condition. What more can any one ask.

Not quite as good as the first season.... 5 Star Review
2009-11-21 - but still the third best season of television of all time. The series finale is one of the most haunting and beautiful hours of television. I knew we weren't going to make it to a third season, but I am still pissed.
