Editorial Review:
Limited edition box set from the world's biggest death metal act.
15 Year Killing Spree Reviews:
Great box set for those who don't have all their albums
2008-03-19 - The people who gave a 1-star review said little or nothing about the boxset itself. Rather, they chose to attack the band. I think the purpose of the review is to describe the product itself (the box set) rather than try to rate the band. If I was rating the band, I would give them 5 stars. These are some hard working death metalers, and some of the most talented musicians out there. I have been playing guitar for almost 20 years, and their stuff is not easy to play, in the least. I also read a person's review that stated that CC is "responsible for distorting the greatness of the work of respected Death metal bands like Death, Hypocrisy, In flames, At the gates, Arch enemy, Amon amarth, Children of bodom, Meshuggah..." I see one death metal band in that list. None of the other bands in that list are death metal. You might as well have put Slayer and Entombed in that list.
As for the boxset itself, like I said in the Subject line, if you don't have the majority of their cd's this is a great buy. It provides a greatest hits picked by CC including Corpsegrinder and Chris Barnes on vocals. The other discs include some demos, cover tunes, and a DVD with some less than stellar audio. The autographed poster and guitar picks are nice add-ons too.
I do not own this
2007-11-17 - I bought this for a friend and he seamed very happy so I give it five stars
Very Good
2006-08-14 - This is an excellent box set for the price. Cannibal Corpse certainly isnt for everyone, but those who appreciate technical, tight, loud death metal cant go wrong with this set. Lots of good studio versions of their best songs and some nice rarities and demoes to go along with a poster (mine was autographed but some of the newer ones are not), a really cool booklet and a CC guitar pick make this a really great box set to have. Some of the songs on the DVD are of rough quality but its still cool to see them way back in the begining playing live.
Great Box Set
2006-08-05 - This is a great box set, by a great band, and yadda yadda yadda. Every Corpse fan knows these songs by now, so there is no need going over them. Plus, some come with a poster, pick, and comic book.
And to Hydonymous, maybe if you werent such a pussy, listening to homoerotic techno like Dj Encore and Ian Van Dahl, you would know that Slayer and Cannibal Corpse are 2 of the best bands ever, and that you are nothing but a sad, angsty pop fag, that probally wrote a book about your experiences of coming out of the closet. Go back to your hole and suck Lance Bass some more.
CORPSE RULES!!!
2006-04-30 - This is a great boxset! I recommend it to any CC fan or to any fan of death metal. The DVD is sweet! And by the way... to those people who dont listen to death metal: QUIT COMING ON HERE & STOP TALKING CRAP ABOUT DEATH METAL JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT LISTEN TO IT OR THINK ITS COOL TO BASH SOMETHING YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!!! As small & feeble as your minds obviously are, you could never grasp the concept that IS death metal. It's not noise... its brilliant song structures woven together to create brutal masterpeices. I'd like to see one of these wastes-of-life pick up a guitar or bass and be able to play ALL OVER the fretboard at high speeds with ease. And who is this foolish reviewer "HYDONYMOUS?!" He has the EXACT SAME bad review on EVERY death metal CD he reviewed, (which is EVERY Corpse CD) including Slayer's "Reign in Blood. " Starting out with "Ladies & Gentlemen, MUSIC DOESN'T GET WORSE THAN THIS," this a$$clown then proceedes to call it noise & how "nobody in their right mind would give this a 5-star rating!" Well, I gave it 5 stars myself, so according to him, my musical tastes are "SERIOUSLY WARPED!!!" And dude... if you think listening to construction work sounds better, then please go & stand in a construction zone. Mabye something heavy will fall on you & erase you from existence. You are wasting the same air that myself & others are breathing! In short, shut the f@#% up!!! Does anyone else agree? THANX!!!
