Eaten Back to Life Reviews:
The big four of death metal 5 Star Review
2008-07-08 - Hmmmm....... I remember picking this up around the same time as Obituary's "Slowly We Rot".
And really, who else was the big four of death metal?
Deicide
Morbid Angel
Obituary
And of course...............The legendary Cannibal Corpse.
It's interesting to go back and listen to this disc, the music is much slower and more, dare I say "musical"???
Cannibal has had some good discs since Barnes left but unfortunately Webster and crew are taking CC in more of an Immolation direction which is unfortunate.
Yes, the group is getting more and more technical, which is impressive but doesn't make for a very enjoyable listening experience.
Oh well, as for "Eaten"
Classic!!!
Shredded is just pounding and doom laden.
And who can forget the classic "Skull full of Maggots"???
A must have for fans of the extreme, not a weak track on the disc.
Start to finish, brutal, extreme, memorable.
Recommended!!!

One of their best. 5 Star Review
2008-04-22 - This is death metal at it's finest. Don't buy this expecting songs about bunnies and sunshine, though. It's all purely about gore. We really don't need another "OMG DEATH METAL IS RETARDED" review.

I recommend it. But as I said before, with a cover like that and a name like Cannibal Corpse, don't expect songs about bunnies and sunshine.

MY EARS ARE BLEEDING PLZ FIX BY EATING THEM BACK TO LIFE 1 Star Review
2008-01-13 - Do not buy this cd. If you do, you are only encouraging this band to continue recording more of this garbage.

Here is a sample of their music:

POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD POWER CHORD

Yeah their songs sound the same and they are boring and retarded. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard them the first time.

And eaten back to life? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

(4.5) Great start for these sick S.O.B's 4 Star Review
2007-12-23 - When I first got this album I was turned off and let it collect dust in my closet (along with a bunch of other Metal albums that I didn't like). A few months later I found myself headbanging and running around my room to the old-school Death Metal sounds of Cannibal Corpse. Not that I didn't like Cannibal Corpse but I didn't immediatly understand what they were trying to get across in their music. I think the drums are the best instrument on this album because it is the most audible and the blasting is really good. The guitars are pretty crunchy and pretty fast. The bass is pretty good even though you don't hear it most of the time. The vocals could ahve been better but hey, they're Death Metal vocals what to you expect?. There are some memorable songs on here like: Shredded Humans, Edible Autopsy, Born In A Casket, A Skull Full of Maggots, and Buried In The Backyard. Overall this is a great debut but I like the George Fisher-era more.

STFU....This is classic 5 Star Review
2007-07-26 - Alright, to start this off....everyone who gave this less then 3 stars based upon the lyrics are really, really gay. And as for the fools saying that the music is easy to play.....I will laugh at your funeral. As a drummer, Cannibal Corpse's drumming is not "sloppy random notes". Guitar wise, how many of you can actually solo? I rest my case. As for the vocals, well, that is a matter of aquired taste, but the same people who are bashing this are giving 5 star reviews to Death albums, not realising that THEY USED TO DEATH GRUNT AND HAVE GORE LYRICS.

Anywho, to Hell with all of you. I thoroughly have enjoyed this since I got it a long time ago and I still continue to enjoy it. Favorites are Shredded Humans, Born in a Casket, and Skull Full of Maggots.

Just listen to it for the music, if you want poetic lyrics, then read some Edgar Allen Poe, you tools.
