Dirty Love (Unrated Edition) Reviews: Not for people with no sense of humour. 2008-06-09 - I personally loved this movie. For those who say it's crude.. grow a sense of humour. It's meant to be a little crude and sometimes over-the-top. And honestly it's not a stones throw away from anything worse than you see on cable t.v. Sure the movie isn't incredibly deep, but why should it be? It's not pretending to be such. It's just a fun movie that can be enjoyed by both girls and guys. For girls it has the cute romantic story line with the happy ending and subjects/situations most of us can relate to on some level or another. For guys there's the slapstick humour, crude jokes, and last but not least... Jenny's amazing boobs. So step of your high horse, crack open a few beers or a wine cooler or two and just enjoy the damn movie without the high expectations of anything deep or inspiring... just something funny and surprisingly endearing.
worth owning 2008-05-04 - this movie is friggin hilarious! it leans toward chick flick, but the guys love it too. great humor all throughout the movie.
Underrated and amusing 2008-02-18 - Dirty Love, while not being the funniest comedy that I have ever seen, certainly had its moments and proves that Jenny McCarthy is a very talented comedienne who deserves more credit than she's usually awarded.
McCarthy stars as Rebecca, a young photographer who thinks that she has a great life until she catches her supermodel boyfriend cheating on her with another woman. He seems unphased by the whole incident and proceeds to destroy all of her photographic equipment and kick her out of their house. Completely abandoned, she turns to her friends - Michelle, Carrie and John - for help and stays with them while trying to recover from her break-up.
The film was written by McCarthy and has some very funny moments, while some of the jokes are hit and miss. There are also some genuinely uncomfortable moments - the escapade in the supermarket being one of them - but the film has such a good heart that its really hard to not like it. Especially given that McCarthy loves to make a fool out of herself, as do the rest of the cast.
Overall, the film has endured some harsh criticism given that its actually not that bad and is worth a watch, especially if you like Jenny McCarthy and Carmen Electra, who makes an amusing appearance as Rebecca's friend who thinks she's black.
if u have an off beat sense of humor you'll love it! 2008-01-15 - In this movie jenny mccarthy stars as rebecca who is dating a typical model who is more in love with himself then her. This movie is not for people who find typical things funny. Everything from her break down on the hollywood strip to finding her boyfriend cheating on her are things that women encounter. I mean the whole part where she goes richard my richard and then starts to cry and then stops calms herself then thinks about the situation again. classic. ive done that although not on the street. and when she walks in on her boyfriend and doesnt say anything my friend did the same thing. everyone has that white ghetto friend. everyone has that ditsy friend. all the stereotypes were done to the extreme and thats what makes it so great and really funny. you cant take this movie seriously and you shouldnt try to. Just enjoy it!
Dirty Love = Love 2007-12-05 - This is one of my favorite movies of all time! It has some hilarious gags and some memorable quotes. My friends and I watch this movie all the time. It never gets old. Some (especially men) may not appreciate certain scenes (such as the grocery store scene) but nonetheless over all a great movie. "Did you sleep with Charlie the tuna last night...?"
