Description of Meet the Spartans (Unrated 'Pit of Death' Edition):
With Meet the Spartans, the creators of Date Movie lampoon penguins, Paris Hilton, American Idol, Britney Spears, Dancing with the Stars, Stomp the Yard, Brangelina, Lindsay Lohan, product placement, Sylvester Stallone, Transformers, and pretty much every other obvious target that's emerged since they made their last flick, Epic Movie. The main subject of mockery is 300, the visual-effects laden Greek warrior movie, the relentless homoeroticism of which is not-so-subtly pointed out with a mixture of scatology, phallic humor, painted-on six-pack abs, disco songs, blows to the groin, and spitting--lots and lots and lots of spitting. There's nothing remotely clever about Meet the Spartans, and even fans of pop-culture cuisinarts like Scary Movie may feel the genre is losing its oomph, but if you're looking for a shotgun blast of lowbrow gags, this is it. Along for the ride are Sean Maguire (The Class), Kevin Sorbo (Hercules), Ken Davitian (Borat), Diedrich Bader (Napoleon Dynamite), and Carmen Electra, without whom no movie of this kind would be complete. The only person who emerges with any credibility is comedienne Nicole Parker (Mad TV), who does a pretty spot-on impression of Ellen DeGeneres. --Bret Fetzer

Better then Epic movie, but fails in the second half of this movie 
2008-07-07 - I did not laugh one single time during the entire Epic movie. So I was very cautious to avoid wasting money on this when it released in cinemas. And I was right, it would have been a rip off.
It is better then Epic movie, I god a few good laughs out while watching the first half of this movie. But some things dragged on to long with gags that where not working, and the dance off things are done to death, i just hit skip and little was all that funny after that.
They have at least done a better job then Epic movie, which might get my interest to see there next Disaster movie, but if that one fails, then I will never watch these guys parody movies again.
This one parodies 300 (duhhhhh) Transformers, Ghostrider, Britney Spears, American idol, and a whole heap of other movies... however some things are parodied pretty stupidly, again like there last couple of movies, they could have been a lot funnier if these guys knew how to write funnier stuff.
The main movie only runs for about an hour, then it's credits and this stupid American idol 300 the musical thing... i'm sick of these damn cast sing alongs these movies do, this one wasn't poking fun at it, it was just doing it...lame... for someone who cant stand American idol or any Idol for that matter, it was a waste of time to sit through that.... then it goes into... i dunno, alternate/outtakes or something. More bits and pieces of parodied scenes that where not funny.
Not to forget, they had the actual Simon moron from American idol in Scary Movie 3 doing a parody of the judges... why do it again, and with actors pretending to be the actual people?

2008-07-05 - I did not know it was possible to make a movie this bad. It wasn't even funny. It deserves less than 1 star.
