Editorial Review:
The smash success of Celtic Woman generated a lot of demand for more music from the talented performers, and The Water Is Wide is a rerelease of the first album of Órla Fallon, the harp-playing brunette. As the title suggests, the album is filled with traditional songs, including "The Water Is Wide," "She Moved Thro' the Fair," and "Down by the Sally Gardens," as well as traditional Irish songs such as "Aliliu Na Gamhna," "Carrickfergus," and "The Gartan Mother's Lullaby." Celtic Woman fans will enjoy hearing "Siuil a Run" again, and it also provides a different vibe to the rest of the album's steady flow of delicate loveliness. Most of the songs are Órla accompanying herself, but at only 37 minutes, The Water Is Wide doesn't overstay its welcome. --David Horiuchi

The Water Is Wide Reviews:
Orla - The Water Is Wide 5 Star Review
2009-12-06 - I loved Orla on the Celtic Woman programs on PBS. She seemed the most confident of the women. I recently saw their new special. I was sad to see that she and Meav are no longer a part of the ensemble.

This CD is very good and her voice is wonderful. I love the Celtic Woman ensemble, however when they spun off each singer's CDs I don't like that they selected many of the same songs. I ordered Lisa's CD at the same time that I ordered this one and there are 2 songs that are on both CDs.

Great Singer and nice son selections 5 Star Review
2009-08-14 - Orla is one of the best singers in Celtic Women and she does a great job on this album. Looking forward to her next release

Orla's first solo CD 5 Star Review
2009-06-17 - The Water Is Wide by Orla Fallon is thirty-seven minutes and seven seconds and was released on January 10, 2006. The Water Is Wide reached #9 on the Top World Album charts. Most if not all the music is song in Gaelic, the native language of Ireland. All the songs are traditional songs of Ireland; no original music. Orla has a very beautiful voice and plays the harp beautiful. This CD is great to unwind to. The Water Is Wide by Orla Fallon gets an AAA+++.

Celtic Woman Harpist Orla Cuts A Great Record 5 Star Review
2009-02-04 - Orla Fallon, the former vocalist/harpist for Celtic Woman shines in her own spotlight on this beautiful CD. Orla's delicate, sensitive voice creates an atmosphere thatmatches perfectly with the songs she sings and her wonderful harp playing.

Songs like "Carrickfergus," "Siúil A Rún," "Raglan Road," and "Down by the Sally Gardens" will do nothing but continue to endear those who were enchanted by her performances with Celtic Woman, and will also create new fans who enjoy Celtic music and talented performers.

Beautiful music 5 Star Review
2009-01-18 - I bought this CD for my mom for Christmas, between her and my nephew it's getting to the point where it will need to be replaced from being played so often.
