A sneaky and surprisingly smart horror flick, Cabin Fever sets up all the cliches of its particular subgenre (what might be called the "sexy young people go into the woods" horror movie, featuring hostile redneck locals, dead animals on hooks, cars that suddenly stop running, etc.) and by the end has played a clever twist on every standard element, often to darkly comic effect. What's the plot? Well, five sexy young people (Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, Joey Kern, Cerina Vincent, and James DeBello) go to an isolated cabin where they contract a nasty bacteria that eats their flesh; this, combined with a bad-tempered dog and a party-loving police deputy (Giuseppe Andrews, giving a particularly funny performance), leads everyone into confusion and bloody chaos. Some of the ironic twists are a little obvious, but most of them effectively subvert your expectations to entertaining effect. --Bret Fetzer

2008-07-18 - This movie is hilarious. If you haven't seen it, please do. The "partying" cop is one of the creepiest guys I've ever seen...and the guys other than Shawn from Boy Meets World are complete [...]...just see it, already. And cover your eyes once or twice...

2008-05-26 - ...one of the absolute worst movies I've ever seen. Sorry, but it was not funny and it was not scary or creepy. It was just gross and stupid.

2008-02-08 - Its got deranged hillbillies a la "Deliverance " and the added ingredient of a lethal virus just to make things a tad more interesting.Said backwoodspersons and aforementioned virus are what awaits five teenagers who head off to a cabin in the woods for a vacation (I can but assume Miami was fully booked because they did not strike me as the "back to nature "types).Any partying they were planning on doing has to be put on the back burner as they encounter a profusely bleeding man in the woods,one infected with something peculiarly unpleasant .they get rid of him only to realise they may be infected with the virus themselves with grisly death an imminent possibility.Not to mention those deformed hillbillies lurking in the eponymous cabin
The movie has all the usual slasher movie ingredients -vehicles breaking down at the most inopportune moment ,lurking killers in the shrubbery ,wild chases through deserted houses and narrow escapes galore.The kids are the usual mixture of personalities you might expect but if you want old style schlock horror with some twisted humour thrown in then this is s good example ,well made and a nice mix of the frightening and icky with some well judged moments of schock
Its not Citizen Kane but it delivers what it sets out to do perfevtly well
Bloody good Film - Don't analyze, just watch
2007-12-23 - A bunch of friends out on a pleasure trip lock themselves up in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and do all the stupid cliche things you are supposed to do to get killed. As usual you have a 5 people group - 2 girls, 2 guys and one single guy. This time the stalker is not a serial killer or leather face or Freddy; its a flesh eating virus that eats your skin away as you are alive. It is a kind of realistic and believable film. The infection is natural and gradual. But some of the decisions the characters make are stupid. But even then overall the movie doesn't pretend to be deeper than a horror flick. So you are not going into this one to see Academy award stuff. But the acting is still top notch. They do a pretty good job of acting being freaked out and seeing their friends become walking talking skinned alive beings due to the infestation of the virus. Also an insane county policeman and an insane police kind of gives it that freaky unreal touch that the movie needs. Its like its happening in some other world not on this Earth. But as usual in Eli Roth movies, there is a little skin bonus. We get a pretty attractive female lead with an ample and athletic figure. Eli always gets in a sex scene or two into his movies. This one is no exception. A little added bonus for the guys who wanted to leave the theaters. 'Bloody good fun skinning people alive' kinda film. Enjoy the film as piece of no-brainer gore film, don't analyse the movie coz there is nothing to analyse.

Bloody Suckage!! 
2007-12-11 - Cabin Fever follows five college friends who go to spend a weekend at a cabin in the woods. Their story telling around the campfire the night they arrive around the campfire (with a very bloody story, if I may add) is sabotaged by a seriously diseased man. Soon, one of the girls catches the disease, and becomes seriously ill as a virus begins to eat her, and the others have to fight to survive the flesh eating virus after their car broke down and got infected with the blood of the latter sick man.
Okay. The plot sounds REALLY cool, right? Okay, it's a little crazy, but overall, Cabin Fever is a very poorly made film with blood here, blood there, blood everywhere as the kids begin to contract the deadly virus.
Some of the deaths are very crazy, like when Marcy (Cerina Vincent) gets attacked by the dogs after peeling off the skin on her legs in the bathtub. I was screaming and laughing because it was so great!
Honestly, I'd give Cabin Fever a try, because it's not as bad as people make it out to be. It's pretty bad, yes, but it is a fun, entertaining, downright bloody, gory, outrageous movie to watch! So, take a chance, and if I may suggest, rent it before you buy it! =)
