Description of Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Second Season:
At the heart of the first years of Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the romance between Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar), slayer of all things evil, and hunky Angel (David Boreanaz), the tortured vampire destined to walk the earth with a soul. The second season of Buffy took the Buffy-Angel pas de deux from ecstasy to agony in a now-classic plot arc that catapulted the show from WB teen drama to true TV greatness. You see, if the cursed Angel ever experiences true happiness for a moment, he'll revert to being an evil vampire again. And guess what happens after Buffy and Angel finally declare their love for one another and consummate their relationship...

Buffy found its true momentum during the second season, as geeky Xander (Nicholas Brendon) fell in love with popular girl Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), Willow (Alyson Hannigan) gave up her crush on Xander in favor of werewolf boy Oz (Seth Green), and watcher Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) began a sweetly tentative relationship with computer teacher (and witch) Jenny Calendar (Robia LaMorte). Mayhem came to Sunnydale, though, in the form of evil vampires Drusilla (Juliet Landau) and Spike (drolly wicked James Marsters), who were more than ready to aid and abet Angel as he turned bad. It all sounds like horror-action mayhem (and there are great fight scenes), but Buffy took on its plotlines with amazing depth, intelligence, and humor. And oh, man, the love story! Buffy and Angel's tragic relationship is one of the most heartbreaking you'll ever find. Buffy's final dilemma finds her having to save the world at Angel's expense, and Gellar (who deserves a passel of Emmys for her work) is phenomenal at telegraphing Buffy's swirling conflicts between love and duty. This is some of the best TV ever made, period. --Mark Englehart

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Second Season Reviews:
Even better the season #1 5 Star Review
2008-08-04 - This season had some of the most memorable episodes.
My favorites were the one with the ghost presently reliving his death via students at Sunnydale High. Also Ethan Rayne is introduced in the Halloween episode, where Buffy and the gang become their costumes. Classic!!
Angel isn't a particularly interesting character to me throughout the seasons... even in his own spin-off show. His character is close to cardboard flat, but that doesnt take out of the show.
    It continues to deliver!!

Great follow up to Season 1 5 Star Review
2008-05-02 - I ordered Season 2 because I was in the process of getting the entire Buffy television series. It's actually a very good season. All though watching Angel as the "Big Bad" of the season was disturbing yet enjoyable at times. I especially enjoyed Spike being introduced into the mix as well. He was always a favorite and I'm so glad they decided not to kill him off as originally planned. So I would definitely recommend this to people who would like to be introduced to the Buffy Universe.

As good as I remember! 4 Star Review
2008-04-05 - I began watching this series when I was 12 or 13. I thought perhaps I enjoyed it so much because I was young, and the characters were not that much older than I was. Now, ten years later, I still enjoy this show more than almost any other. The plot is intriguing, and the characters are all so relatable. As the season progressed, I found myself getting more and more into the show, because it is so well written. The emotions are real and the writers and actors do an incredible job breathing life into them. This season is far superior to Season 1, and the show only gets better with Season 3.

Buffy Season Two 4 Star Review
2008-03-27 - With Season One being as short as it is, this is actually the first real season of Buffy. This is some of the best camp ever to make its way to prime time television. A season-spanning coming of age theme, with the introduction of the classic vampire character Spike.

A Fantastic Season of Buffy! 5 Star Review
2008-03-27 - Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 2 was a giant improvement over the average Season 1. There are two main reasons it was tons better then Season 1. One was the amazing plot Arc that concerned Buffy's realtionship with Angel. This is truly the greatest relaionship story in Television history. The second reason is two actors: Juliet Landau as Drusilla and James Marsters as Spike. These performances made the second season. It was a joy whenever they were on screen.

The season started out with a few lackluster episodes including the forgetable "Some Assembly Required". There were also some truly excellent episodes, including "School Hard" and "Lie To Me". THe season really hit its stride with the episode "Innocence". This was my favorite episode of the season. It had everything, great continuity, magnifient performances from everyone involved, and plot twists galore! From then on there wasn't a bad episode(except for the worst episode of Buffy EVER! "Killed By Death"). Another truly astonishing episode is "Passion" in which a pivitol chracter is killed. This is the most emotional episode of the season. The season finale "Becoming" is another outstanding episode. Another important chracter is killed off, and the Buffy/Angel relationship reaches a conclusion(for now).

The performances of the season were the already metioned Juliet Landau and James Marsters, and two other actors: Sarah Michelle Geller and David Boreanaz gave heart-breaking performances as Buffy and Angel the star-crossed lovers.

    Top 5 Episodes:

    1. Innocence
    2. Passion
    3. Becoming Part II
    4. Becoming Part I
    5. Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered
