Editorial Review:
Johnny was a poolhall hustler, one of the best, until he discovered how his manager Joe had ruined his life. he left Joe int he hands of some heavy-duty drug dealers and split the scene. Now he's trying to go legit, save his relationship with his girlfriend Tara, and maybe even save his life. Johnny's younger brother Danny is eager to follow in his footsteps -- eager enough to find himself deep in debt to Joe, who has returned with a new poolhall protege. When Danny robs a store to pay back Joe, it's time for his big brother to take his cue. The final game has a payoff that's bigger than money, bigger than life, bigger than either player can imagine. Because somewhere on the edge of the 8-ball waits a man's soul.

Poolhall Junkies Reviews:
Do the hustle, the hard way
2009-03-04 - The game is the vehicle by which the characters are developed and their selfish, greedy approach to life is demonstrated by the level of their desire to succeed; even at the cost of the future of a youthful key player. Walken is superb as the instigator of a big money game, however, his role is not the focus of the story. Great billiard shots and dialogue consistent with that found around most pool halls. Fun to watch, this movie will send you to your local pool hall.
Christopher Walken is the MAN!!!
2008-12-14 - This movie has every making of a "Cult Classic" and the stars to carry it on. Christopher Walken is a great actor and I enjoy him in everything he is in...including JOE DIRT.
Christopher Walken happens to be one of my favourites, and it was a nice surprise to see him in this film - but even without his charismatic acting, it would surely have been worth the time. Excellent showing of the game at it's brilliant best, it is also pretty funny, mostly believable (even tho a couple of times the hustling was made a bit too easy) and has more depth than Color of Money or the old one which had Minnesota Fats in it.. forgot the name of that one.
I'd double rate this film 9-10 for pool players, 7-9 for others.
This is the best underrated movie of all time.
2008-11-23 - This is the best underrated movie I have ever seen. I would recommend anyone to watch this movie. Mars Callahan needs to come out with another.

2008-05-21 - As of now (May 21, 2008) I have still not recieved the original product I had ordered March 23, 2008. The money has been taken out of my account, but no movie has been delivered. If at all possible, I would like someone to contact me with information regarding the where abouts of the movie I ordered. I would preferably like the movie shipped, but if problems have occured then a refund would be fine as well.
