Cheetah-licious Christmas Reviews:
Great cd for kids
2009-12-21 - My 9 year old daughter loves these Christmas songs, and I do too. New and old favorites. It's been fun to have this season.
Upbeat contemporary pop Christmas album
2009-09-08 - This album particularly appeals to me because of the song selection, which contains several original songs along with a few familiar songs, but in choosing to record some familiar songs, they avoided the most obvious classics. Also conspicuously missing are any religious songs, as the Cheetah Girls focus on the festive aspects of the season.
The original songs (Five more days 'til Christmas, The perfect Christmas, Cheetah-licious Christmas, Christmas in California, No ordinary holiday, The simple things) are all worth a listen, though perhaps the opening track (Five more days 'til Christmas) is the pick among them.
Of the familiar songs, I was pleased to find Marshmallow world, a song that doesn't get covered too often although you'll find another version of it on the famous Phil Spector Christmas album. Covers of more recent Christmas songs by Donny Hathaway (This Christmas), George Michael (Last Christmas) and Mariah Carey (All I want for Christmas is you) as well as more traditional songs (Santa Claus is coming to town, I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus, Feliz Navidad) are all performed well without improving on the originals.
Overall, this is a fine album that will help to keep the Christmas party going. I suspect that the musical production means that the album will generally have greater appeal to younger people than those of my generation, but I don`t think the oldies will mind listening to this one. I confess that when I saw the album, I wasn't entirely sure that buying it would be a good idea, but I took a chance because of the track listing and I'm glad that I did.
Cheetah- licious CD
2009-01-06 - The Cheetah Girls Christmas CD is wonderful. I ordered it late and it arrived right before Christmas! My daughter was thrilled and the songs are real Christmas classics with a Cheetah-licious edge!
Christmas Growl Power!
2007-10-27 - This is an amazing CD! I listen to it even when it's not Christmas! I love it! My only problem is when you put the CD on, and listen to it all the way through, sometimes you wish the songs were in a different order, with some of the more upbeat songs near the end. Also, since Five More Days `Til Christmas was at the begining, I think they should have put Cheetah-licious Christmas near the end since those were their only two originals. Or even one right after the other. Even so, the songs are still great and the CD is definitely worth the money. Here are the songs:
1. Five More Days Till' Christmas - This is one of the two Cheetah Girls originals on the CD. A great upbeat song that gets you in the holiday mood. A great way to start the CD! 8/10
2. Santa Claus is Coming to Town - I love this song! A great twist! One of the best songs on the CD! 10/10
3. The Perfect Christmas - One of the slower songs on the CD, but still alot of fun to listen to. 7/10
4. Cheetah-licious Christmas - The other Cheetah Girls original song. One of my fave songs on the CD! I LOVE IT! Especially the part when they spell out Christmas! "Give me a C..." 10/10
5. Christmas in California - A "Get-up-and-Dance" type of song! Aside from the fact that it's not really like that in all parts of California (I've been to LA, and it can actually get pretty chilly there), it's a great song. And it makes you want to get up sing-a-long, and just dance! 9/10
6. A Marshmallow World - A really cute, fun, up-beat song you might listen to while you put up your Christmas tree, or make yummy Christmas desserts. (You might even add marshmallows!) 8/10
7. No Ordinary Holiday - I personally like listening to this song on Christmas day while I open my presents! It's very holiday-ish and has a fun beat. 8/10
8. All I Want for Christmas Is You - A sweet and slow song, but still fun to listen, dance, and sing along to. 7/10
9. This Christmas - Another fun song to sing and dance to. :) 7/10
10. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - A cute song with a really great beat that's fun to dance to. 7/10
11. The Simple Things - Definitely one of my fave songs on the CD! It's got a cool hip-hop/dance beat and I love the lyrics! 10/10
12. Last Christmas - This song is okay. It's slow, but you can still dance to it. But, it doesn't have anything to do with Christmas or the holidays. They pretty much just used the word in the song. It's okay, but I don't think it fits on a Christmas CD. 5/10
13. Feliz Navidad - A cute way to end the CD, the Cheetah's remade this Mexican Christmas classic, adding a hip-hop/pop beat. Pretty good. 7/10
Cheetah
2007-01-17 - This Cd is excellent for any little girl who likes Christmas songs at Christmas time. My daughter loved it and can't wait until next Christmas to hear again.
