Editorial Review:
A quick overview of some of country music's greats, both traditional and contemporary. The early days of the Opry are represented by artists like George Jones, Roy Acuff, Porter Wagoner, and Uncle Dave Macon, while today's country sound is demonstrated by Steve Wariner, Chely Wright, and Patty Loveless. This CD is great! It features some of the greatest country singers, like Bill Anderson, Porter Wagoner, Reba McEntire, and George Jones. But, my favorite song is the previously unreleaased "Hard to be a husband, hard to be a wife," the duet by Chely Wright and Brad Paisley. This CD is worth it for that song alone! But all the other songs are great too! If you've ever been to the Opry, this CD takes you right back there. And even if you haven't, it gives you a great taste of what the Opry's like. It's a must-have for any Opry fan! Track Listing 1. One - George Jones/Tammy Wynette 2. Timber, I'm Falling in Love - Patty Loveless 3. Still - Bill Anderson 4. Somebody Should Leave - Reba McEntire 5. Honky Tonkin's What I Do Best - Marty Stuart/Travis Tritt 6. I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool - Barbara Mandrell 7. I Like Mountain Music - Roy Acuff 8. Life's Highway - Richard Leigh/Roger Murrah 9. Country Bumpkin - Cal Smith 10. Satin Sheets - Jeanne Pruett 11. Louisiana Saturday Night - Jimmy C. Newman 12. When the Train Comes Along - Uncle Dave Macon 13. I Ain't Never - Webb Pierce 14. Sugarfoot Rag - Porter Wagoner 15. Hard to Be a Husband Hard to Be a Wife - Chely Wright/Brad Paisley
