Angus: Music From The Motion Picture Reviews:
Almost Perfect.
2007-02-27 - It's just that they're missing 2 of my favorite sogs from the movie."Fade into You" from Mazzy Star that played when Angus and Mellissa were dancing, and one other song. Other than that, the soundtrack is just great 90s pop punk and alternative...an interesting mix.
Really nice soundtrack
2006-01-29 - I watched this movie a few years ago with my nieces and nephew; we all loved it. The soundtrack, in and of itself, rocks. Featuring a number of beloved indie-rock bands, like Ash (whose song Kung Fu is, in my humble opinion, the soundtrack's masterpiece, Weezer (their cut is great, too), and Pansy Division, and really solid tracks by Green Day and by the Good Goo Dolls (I'm usually lukewarm about them, but here they sound great, like the Replacements), this record, which is basically very upbeat and nicely fast paced, will have you feeling good about life, just like the movie, no matter how you start out when first listening.
Best soundtrack of all time
2004-10-23 - Every song is awesome on here even the goo goo dolls show up with a good song. The most popular bands in 1995 are here Weezer, Green Day, Goo Goo dolls and Smoking Popes. Plus their a lot of other bands that weren't that popular at the time that got a lot of exposure because of this soundtrack. Best songs: "J.A.R." , "Mrs. you and me", "funny face" , "am i wrong".
Responding to pavement 517
2004-06-15 - Not so much as a review as a response to the question asked by pavement517. The name of the song is "Fade into Me". It is by the Mazzy Stars. If the soundtrack had that song on it I would of given it 5 stars.
Absolutely amazing
2003-12-29 - I first saw the movie when i was extremely young, and could totally relate with the main character, Angus. It was, is, and will always be one of my most favorite movies ever. I first fell in love with the soundtrack because of the Green Day and Weezer songs, which at the time I couldn't find anywhere else. However, i soon absolutely fell for every other song on this album. The missing Mazzy Star song is abit of a drag, but oh well.. My only complaint is, while I do love the version of "Am I Wrong" on this album, it's not the same version as the one in the movie. The horn arrangement and general sombreness of the movie version is missing from the soundtrack version. It's still a great tune, but i would love to know if anyone has the movie version online somewhere, and if so, where i could find it. Overall, excellent movie, equally excellent album.Peace.
