Chris Rock: Never Scared is the hot comic's fourth HBO special and proves as disciplined and trenchant as his previous cable concerts. Announcing he's a recent father, Rock proclaims his biggest job is keeping his daughter "off the pole," i.e., steering her away from the life of a stripper. Warming to the theme, Rock asks why so many strippers earn money to pay for expensive tuitions yet he's never received "a smart lap dance." Things turn topical as Rock argues that his government won't solve the murders of rappers. ("More people saw Tupac get shot than watched the last episode of Seinfeld.") After taking broadsides at Michael Jackson ("Ed Bradley tried his best to make Michael look like a mammal!") and David Blaine ("Are we so desperate we fall for a trickless magician?"), Rock builds to a near-lecture (funny, though) on why white America won't let people of color acquire real wealth. --Tom Keogh

2009-11-17 - Chris Rock - Never Scared is a excellent DVD purchase. I have seen parts of this show on Comedy Central. After watching the DVD , I can say this is one of best comedy acts. I highly recommend this DVD to any fan of Chris Rock!
bigger ego, worse jokes 
2009-09-26 - He's got a private plane, thinks he's a rockstar and his jokes are not raw and clever like they used to be.
It's an americans downfall everytime....out of control egos.
Not funny, just ranting. Chris should do better.
2009-05-01 - After seeing Chris' earlier material, such as the hilarious short video "How Not To Get Your *ss Kicked By The Police," I had high hopes for this performance. However, it's just not funny -- just nasty ranting about: strippers, rap music, his new baby daughter (who better not become a pole dancer), men think with their dicks, the obligatory GWBush rants, "I Love America" but it's a racist hell, etc. Chris has done much better, but appears to have jumped the shark.
