Christina Aguilera Reviews:
Motivated, Determined, & Ambitiously Driven! 3 Star Review
2009-10-30 - This was a fascinating book to read about Christina Aguilera's rise to stardom. While the contents are remarkable they miss many important facts thus available in the book titled, Christina Aguilera: A Star is Made: The Unauthorized Biography. This will give a brief analysis with excellent descriptions on how Christina was raised, how she dealt with peer pressure, and how she was driven passionately to follow her dream even despite adversity. It's with her determination, and ambition that the reader feels compelled to keep reading. The author, Anna Louise Golden does a very good analysis but there are no intimate accounts on Christina's lovers, no chart positions with full description details, and no colored glossy photos. This is a great beginners book for the person who prefers a fast read on the go.

To point out the negative aspects of the book are quite easy. The author spells Aaliyah wrong on one passage, fails to explain how Christina Aguilera meets rocker Fred Durst, doesn't inform on any shows pertaining to that time span with full details or include exclusive interviews. Instead it's a glossed up account giving some insight for the never heard anything about Christina fan. This book only covers Christina's first album, does not have a table of contents, and does not have any extravagant extras, personal messages on author but rather a very short discography and web links to fan sites.

The positives are the way the author "paints the picture" of bringing Christina to the spotlight in the utmost of fashions--very classy, and very professional. There's much information on the Mickey Mouse Club, how she was selected to start singing, and how she was spotted in the first place. It has the Japanese reach to her to perform and make the first mark of appreciation for her thus paving the way for the Mulan Soundtrack that lead to her demo to the producers from her manager all bringing her to eventually live her dream. It really is an excellent book to enjoy even if it doesn't have every single detail. This is recommended for the die-hard must have it all fan.

not great.... 2 Star Review
2004-04-18 - This book has some nice pictures, but no new information any X-Tina fan doesn't already know. The problem with these books is, they become outdated really quickly. This isn't the place to go if you want up-to-the-minute facts about what Christina is doing.
Second, this book gives some wrong, confusing information. For instance, the book mentions a brother named Casey born when Christina was 2, and it says that twin girls were born when Christina was 5. The only siblings Christina has ever mentioned are her younger sister Rachel (who isn't a twin) and a younger half-brother Mike. Why does this book say theres another girl named Stephanie? it's very wierd. So i'd skip this book if I were you....

An interesting look at Christina Aguilera's life 4 Star Review
2003-07-29 - This book provides a nicely detailed 143-page biography about Christina Aguilera. Since it was written back in 2000, it doesn't cover Christina's life after releasing her first CD. From the photo on the front cover, you can tell this book does not chronicle her life up to now. However, this book is filled with interesting information about Christina in an easy-to-read format that first-time fans would find interesting. I wouldn't recommend this book to die-hard Christina Aguilera fans as they would probably know most of the information in the book. It's one of the most detailed biographies written about her, with eight pages of photos. At the end of the book, the author gives a recap of Christina's life up to early 2000. Also included are a discography and recommended Christina websites. This book makes a great introduction to the life of Christina Aguilera.
