Christina Aguilera Reviews:
another review by watermelon !
2006-01-11 - hey hey! well i must say i have done a review on christina's album. although i wanted to do a different review for every song because i listen to her japanese imported one and so my mind changes so dramatically. not because of the cd but it's me. hehe. so here is my review. enjoy ^^!
1. Genie In A Bottle: it's a great start to the album. it was a smash of course. i wonder if anyone has heard her spanish version of the song. it's on her spanish album. it sounds alot better then the english version i must say. but still gold. 10/10
2. What A Girl Wants: i was listening to this song when i was brushing my teeth. i admit it's catchy. so this song is growing on me. 8/10
3. I Turn To You: WOW! what a nice ballad. i always sing this to my best friend when we go to karaoke. hehe. it's just a great tune. i really like it. 10/10
4. So Emotional: this song hasn't really grown on me yet. although i think it will. it's an rnb so it's different vibe 2 her. thumbs up. 7/10
5. Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You): i love the new recorded version on this album because it's much more dancier and she does her own thing which is a rap on the bridge. 10/10
6. Reflections: this song is on the mulan soundtrack. i like this song alot although it's not a stand out on the album because her voice is weak, because she recorded this song when she was young. but it's a catchy number. 7/10
7. Love For All Seasons: this song is catchy. i always find myself singing in the chorus. 9/10
8. Somebody's Somebody: this song grew on me alot. when i say alot, i mean ALOT! great intro and ending. 10/10
9. When You Put Your Hands On Me: it's a catchy song. good to dance to. i liked this song the first time i heard it. i still love it. 10/10
10. Blessed: i love this song! its "reflections" meets "what a girl wants". the tune is so catchy. i love the hook in the song. 10/10
11. Love Will Find A Way: it sounds alot like "love for all seasons". its starting to grow on me because i attend to stop and watch tv when i reach this song. but it's still nice. 7/10
12. Obvious: i love this piano ballad. she sounds great. and the lyrics are beautiful. 10/10
13. We're A Miracle: this is on the pokee'mon movie soundtrack. i don't understnad why it's a bonus track and not added to the original album because its absolutely magnificent. the lyrics and melody is just superb. 10/10
14. Dont Make Me Love You: another bonus track. on "the next best thing" soundtrack. i also love this track. soothin vocals and music. 10/10
Overall this is one of the best albums out there. It has a mix of pop, slick rnb and ballads. Everyone should check it out!
~Christina Aguilera really rox!~
2003-05-01 - I luv Christina Aguilera, and i wanted 2 let her know, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US were sooooooo upset when she started letting herself down, and stripped album waznt as cool as she thought.......CHRISTINA, U ROCK! DONT LET YOURSELF DOWN!! YOU HAVE THE BEST VOICE AND WE'LL ALWAYS LUV YA!
BONUS TRACK TITLES ARE FAMILIAR, BUT THE SONGS ARE DIFFERENT
2002-01-11 - A friend of ours wrote a review saying that he was disappointed with this album because a revamped import version came out later. Yet another friend wrote to say that these songs are available on other albums.
Ahem. Correction. Both should hold on to these prized collectibles.
The version of "What a Girl Wants" that appears on the 14-track CD is the original recording that appeared in the first pressing of her self-titled debut album. Christina re-recorded an uptempo version of the song for the single release, the version which was subsequently issued on the second pressing of her album. All current and future issues of Christina's debut album contain the new recording.
The version of "We're a Miracle" that appears on the Pokémon soundtrack is not the original version. Christina re-wrote the lyrics and re-recorded this song for release on the soundtrack, and it was eventually released as the B-side of "What a Girl Wants" in the U.S. The original version she recorded, with different lyrics, is on this CD.
The version of "Don't Make Me Love You" that appears in the Christina +5 (Remix Plus) version and the soundtrack for 'THE NEXT BEST THING' is a different mix with the same vocals. Again, this original pressing is the first version of her recording.
Conclusion: this Japanese import is worth every penny because it contains alternate versions of songs you will hear nowhere else.
expensive cd to buy for only 2 tracks more
2001-11-29 - i bought this cd, then a month later the other import version was offered on amazon.com and i felt stupid that i paid so much for this cd, when the other has 5 extra songs instead of 2. but i went ahead and bought the other album too. and i recommend you purchase the other album. however this cd has a great version of what a girl wants only available in japan. the other cd "remix plus" has the original u.s. versin. i like the japan version better with a slower beat, and different lyrics. you make the choice. peace
I WISH I COULD GIVE IT LESS
2001-02-05 - I didn't like this cd at all! It didn't fit together very well and you can tell she has trouble singing those very long and high notes because she sounds like a rat squeaking or something! I wouldn't buy this if I were you! It's awful and after a while her singing started to hurt my ears!
