The only good video game turned into a movie I've seen 7/10 part 2 on Mortal Kombat/Mortal Kombat 2 Anhililation DVD reviews 3 Star Review
2009-10-05 - I remember wanting to see this movie so bad back in 95 I liked it then & well I still like it. I'm pretty sure after the mediocrity that was Street Fighter in 1994 the God awfulness of The Mario movie or the piece of s*!t that was Double Dragon I'm sure people were worried but it delivered even Siskel & Ebert liked this s*!t. It stars Highlander star Christopher Lambert as Raiden Robin Shou as Liu Kang Linden Ashby as Johnny Cage Bridgett Wilson as Sonya Blade Talisa Soto as Kitana & Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung. Your story Liu Kang has dreams about his brother Chan's death he goes back to China & learns of a tornament also meet Raiden in this scene. Next we meet Sonya Blade in this scene she's after Kano a serial killer he also killed her partner. We meet Cage in our next scene the press is giving him a hard time about his movies. Liu Kang, Sonya & Cage all end up in Hong Kong to go to the tornament. Raiden tells them that it's not about Liu Kang's quest for vengeance or Sonya's vendetta against Kano.

    Martial Arts 3 Star Review
2009-07-09 - Bought this movie for my son who is in a hospital, a real kung-fu like of guy....

Good for nostalgia 4 Star Review
2009-05-01 - This film may look very ridiculous and idiotic to some, but to me it's good for childhood memories. Back when this film was released, I admired the film for its awesome fight scenes and special effects. It was a bit of mindless entertainment that kept me interested. Now, I go back to this film because it brings back a lot of memories. The soundtrack, for instance, still sounds good even after twelve years ("Halcyon + On + On + On" by Orbital is one of my favorite techno songs of all). The fights scenes are still spectacular, even if they are a bit too unrealistic sometimes. Even the humor is still effective: perfect timing on Raiden's "apology." Not a great film in general, but I did like it when I was a kid.
