Breezy Reviews:
A May December romance with a little nudity thrown in for fun.
2009-10-20 - If you'd like an older man, let him look like Bill Holden. He would be my ideal of a hunk. Imagine him making love to you. Now, tell me what would happen if the tables were turned and if Breezy was 40 and a young Bill was 20, would it be as interesting a story. Maybe.
A lovely find
2009-06-19 - What a special movie.
Where is Kay Lenz? She was just charming! William Holden plays the older guy with substance and sophistication. It didn't bother me that he was so much older.
Clint Eastwood directed this. 36 years ago!
Nice.
All you need is LOVE..... and this movie on DVD.
2009-06-11 - Breezy arrived at the box office in 1973 and quietly drifted off the mainstream radar into virtual obscurity. A poorly planned, and almost non existant marketing campaign certainly didn't help matters. In fact, Universal had already delayed the release of the film for over a year because of early negative critical reaction.
An unfortnate casualty of Breezy's failure, was the film career of Kay Lenz. At only 19 years old, she was not only a beautiful young woman, but a fine actress as well. What should have been a launching pad to stardom, simply became a detour to low-budget film work, and guest starring roles on TV. While many critics seem to focus on the directing skills of Clint Eastwood, or the wonderful acting of William Holden, it's Kay Lenz who is the heart and true "star" of Breezy.
Deceptively simple in its approach, Breezy is a wonderfully rich film about relationships and LOVE. Not just the love between two people, but a love for LIFE itself.

Footnotes;
The original runtime of the film was 108 minutes. The DVD release is 106 minutes.
Kay Lenz received an Emmy nomination in 1976 for her performance in "Rich Man, Poor Man" and finally won an Emmy for "Outstanding guest actress" in the series "midnight caller".
Breezy is often confused with 1974's "Ginger in the Morning" starring Sissy Spacek.
A MUST WATCH FOR ANY MAN LIVING ALONE!
2009-05-05 - This film resonates with the viewer; especially the male, single by himself, living alone and actually enjoying it. Holden was miscast for this role, making Brezzy a wonderment as to why she would fall in love with him in the first place. He lacked personality of any kind. He made a movie in the late 50's that was similar to this but set in China. This was a real fine flick and I would still watch it again.
Unexpectedly sweet!
2009-04-06 - I stumbled upon this browsing Hulu for something to pass the time - it's not the sort I would intentionally rent, probably, but since it was free and so easy, I watched. and I liked it! Was it predictable? Yes, to a point. But it was also sweet, and I didn't regret watching it at all (not something I can say for some movies. Yes, EVERY MOVIE MY SISTER OWNS, I'm talking to you. No accounting for taste). I'd check it out there, then buy it if you like it.
