Fix You Reviews:
Coldplay... 5 Star Review
2009-11-27 - Like I'm sure many others... I was introduced to Coldplay with their "Viva la Vida" album. I've since become a huge Coldplay fan. As far as I'm concerned there's not much they can do wrong. If you are a Coldplay fan... all of their songs need to be in your library! Fix you is, without a doubt, one of the finest pieces ever brought to "life" musically. What an amazing combination of great lyrics and musical composition. There are few groups out there that truly grow on you the more you listen to them. Coldplay is one of those.

2008-12-07 - Again, so worth buying these tidbits of excellent music! I understand there are more coming out, too! Get them all. These guys can do no wrong.

Coldplay Does It Again 5 Star Review
2005-12-16 - Coldplay Has Another AMAZING SINGLE. Fix You is a great song starting with Chris and his piano. Soon the rest of the band kicks in and rocks the rest of the song.
THE WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN: This song is the highlight of the b-sides and starts off with the words X and Y. From there the song gets better.
POUR ME: ANother good song from Coldplay that is heavy. This song would be better not live.

An alright single 3 Star Review
2005-12-03 - You've probably heard "Fix You" by now so I won't spend any time commenting on it. I would like to give my own 2cents on the B-sides. I don't agree with the other reviewers here that "The World Turned Upside Down" should've made it onto X&Y. It sounds great until the chorus comes in. At that point it goes from being great to barely mediocre. It's like they put in the first chorus that came to mind instead of coming up with something catchy and original. They succeeded in doing this on X&Y and that's why this song is a b-side and not on the album. "Pour Me" is an alright track but nothing to write home about. It's also live so that takes away from the quality of the recording. Hope this review helps. BTW if you're looking for a good b-side, pick up the single for "Speed of Sound" because "Things I Don't Understand" is an excellent b-side and almost DID make it onto the album.

Second single from "X&Y" has great B-sides 4 Star Review
2005-10-23 - "Fix Me" is the second single from Coldplay's "X&Y" album. Anyone that has seen Coldplay on their recently completed US tour, knows that "Fix Me" is the final song of the evening, and a very appropriate, almost cathartic, send-off.

"Fix Me" (3 tracks, 14 min., plus 1 video) also contains great B sides. "The World Turned Upside Down" is another solid "dramatic" song that for some reason is included only on the Japanese version of "X&Y", but really should have been included in all international versions of the album, as it starts of with the verse "X and Y, the land, see, rivers, trees, the stars, the sky" and thus in a sense is the title track of the album. "Pour Me" is another song from the "X&Y" sessions, brought here in a live version from Coldplay's show at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this year. Finally, pop the CD into your PC and you can play the video of "Fix Me".

Coldplay is one of the few bands (Oasis being another one) that releases singles that are worth seeking out for the B sides. "Fix Me" is another great example of that. Recommended for Coldplay completists.
