When it comes to being a skinny, big-smiling teen-ager who can whip pop music fans into a frenzy with a mere toss of his excellent curls, let's face it: Corbin Bleu has competition. If Bleu is not the only TV-launched singer to revitalize both leave-in conditioner sales and puppy love in 2007, though, he is the only one with a shot at being taken seriously by critics. Another Side, his first album post-High School Musical and Jump In!, the Disney Channel movies that made a household name out of him (at least in households inhabited by 8- to 15-year-olds), is pretty much what you'd expect--a high-energy hybrid of pop, R&B, and hip-hop. Consider "Push It to the Limit," the song that propelled the Jump In! soundtrack and closes this disc, an on-ramp to the bubbly Bleu sound. Don't discount what separates him from the pack of post-Disney Channel singers wishing upon stars for pop-chart domination, though. His vocals, a pleasing mash of Michael Jackson and Jesse McCartney, make him a contender for a long-term career in music. --Tammy La Gorce

2009-03-24 - maybee it's just me, but lemme share this question with everyone of you good people who say things like " wow! I Love this CD" AND "It's A must buy!! ALL 12 SONGS ARE EXCELLENT!!" , Aren't you tired of the cut, copy and paste style of composed sound that these subliminal messagers from the disney channel bring to the radio, tv, and internet?{if you don't realize the message, here's a hint,"aren't our disney pop stars talented and gorgeous? now buy the CD and continue to watch so we can get you to pay our outrageous prices for our own personal profit!!") They all use the same background drums in the SAME pattern OR hit u with some cheesy electric guitar play.the songwriters always stick to the same concepts ("baby" is sung shamelessly in long drawn out vocals CONSTANTLY!!). BASICALLY what i am saying is if you wanna hear CORNBALL er i mean corben bleu, listen to jesse mccartney, justin timberlake{ the n'sync years}, the backstreet boys,nick lacheay,or any other high school musical male singer.they all sing as the same person in the same style. if they all merge maybee they would finally become HALF of a good singer. this album is weak. two thumbs down. boo.

2008-06-27 - My son is a really big Corbin Bleu fan and refers to him as "the cool guy." This CD is the main one he likes to listen to while riding in the car.

2008-06-14 - I am a 39 year-old husband and father of 4 and I love Corbin Bleu! He is a talent that should always have a job and be around for a long time. He does it all from acting to sports to singing. I absolutely love this album! Is he the best singer ever?? No, but he sure does rank up there with the best! I hope he continues to bring out music and movies--I will support him! My kids love him too! In today's world, hearing this fine album is so refreshing! If you don't have it, you should have it! I can't wait until his next one comes out!!
