Editorial Review:
They've sold over 20 million albums worldwide and consistently climbed charts with their vibrant, Celtic-influenced, infectious and clear-eyed pop. They've even shared their stage with guests like U2's Bono and The Rolling Stones' Ron Wood. Now the Corrs follow up their 2002 release VH1 Presents The Corrs: Live in Dublin, with the eagerly awaited brand new studio set Borrowed Heaven.

Description of Borrowed Heaven:
Borrowed Heaven comes a few years after the greatest hits collection and the Corr's last proper studio album, In Blue. It's easy to see it was time well spent as of the 12 new songs here there is very little filler and plenty of catchy, rousing choruses. Lead single and opener "Summer Sunshine" is jolly, guitar-driven, 80s pop-rock and, like much of the album, has a few quirky production gimmicks to fill out the verse while the chorus explodes into big drums and meaty guitar hooks.

It's difficult to pick standouts as the style is quite firmly set and the quality between songs unwavering, but the finale "Silver Strand" is a grandiose Celtic instrumental led by Sharon Corr's sadly under-used violin with Andrea chipping in the occasional "La la la" vocal. "Long Night" is a well-crafted 80s power-ballad and in contrast, "Humdrum" takes a contemporary slant on the Corrs sound with scratching, synths, and breaks creating the rockiest moment on the album. There may be disappointment that it veers towards the commercialism of Fleetwood Mac rather than the traditional folk of their earlier work, but this is the Corrs and has been for some time; so love it or loathe it, it's unmistakably their sound. --David Trueman

Borrowed Heaven Reviews:
Another great Corrs album 5 Star Review
2009-11-10 - Borrowed Heaven is forty-five minutes and seventeen seconds and was released on May 31, 2004. Borrowed Heaven reached #51 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album & U.S Top Internet Album charts. This would by the last album by the group to chart in the United States. Only one song, Summer Sunshine, manage to chart in the United States. The music is done in a Celtic Folk-rock genre. They group seems to be walking a fine line on the album; it sounds like they are trying to please everyone and try to include a new fan base. Borrowed Heaven received mixed reviews by the music critics. Still I am giving Borrowed Heaven by The Corrs an AAA+++.

Kept me rockin' 5 Star Review
2009-09-25 - I first heard this at work, off someone's iPod. I was addicted the first time I heard this album. Every chance I got, I put this on the speakers, so that I could hear it all throughout my workspace. Being a technician, my workspace is kind of large. It's a great set of songs all the way through to the end. Not one bad note in it all. Everything was done well on this album!

Very very enjoyable - a great piece to their stellar discography 5 Star Review
2009-08-11 - I can't believe I missed this album when it was released in 2004. I'm a big fan of the Corr's traditional Irish sounds, and find it hard to get tired of them. Their unique family arrangement and heritage really inspire and intrigue me. I enjoyed this album quite a lot, and am glad I found it,as I'd hate to have it missing from my collection. The first three songs are very catchy and quick paced before they slow it down a bit with "long night". Of course, I'm always looking for their instrumental, and I wish there was more than one here, but the one included "Silver Strand" is very good, though it isn't any "Erin Shore" (if you haven't heard that one, go get their first album!). Overall, a great collection of pop songs with a little Irish mix.

Good, but .... 4 Star Review
2008-08-08 - I so wanted to love this album as much as the Ultimate Coors, but I was a little disappointed :-(

Re-focused their goals and accomplished it. 5 Star Review
2007-12-09 - If you aren't a Corrs' fan, you would not know basically the entire album was dedicated to their beloved mom that passed away four years ago. Lyrically the songs featured in this album can really move you. Musically, it touches your heart in many different ways. If you don't believe, just try listen to their instrumental 'Silver Strand'. The piano and violin created such a warming atmosphere. If you got good imagination, you'd be able to picture what it's all about. This piece is actually named after their mom's favorite beach. The message behind the songs are deeper than you thought. It's nothing like any other songs they wrote before.

This is the right track that Corrs should be in. After almost four years, they all grew mature and understood more the meaning of families and lives. They didn't disappoint any Corrs' fans at all even though it was a long wait. They succeeded staying away from the pop sound like what they had in 'In Blue'. A lot of the songs in this album were inspired from their individual lives after married except Andrea. What it means is, they all contributed equally and come together as a band recorded the tracks. A lot of emotion, love and passion when they recorded this album. It's just so beautiful to listen to their songs. Listen shouldn't be the word, feel would be a better word.

In the previous albums except the Unplugged, I only liked a few (3-4) songs on each album. However, this album I like 9 out of 12 songs. Here are the songs and I'll explain why.

1.Summer Sunshine - upbeat = happy? ya? It's very catchy

2.Angel - verse and chorus give you different mood. Sad mode to all-out smiling mode

3.Hideaway - simple song and yet blend with very nice melodies & harmonics. Full throttle chorus that you won't forget the tune.

4.Longnight - this song will click if you just got dumped by someone you loved. Yes, the music will touch you.

5.Goodbye - you'll look up the sky when you hear this song playing. I like the verse and outro a lot

6.Time enough for tears - title of this song speaks all. Prepare your Kleenex.

7.Humdrum - Finally some catchy guitar riffs. I like the fact that except that first few sec disc scratching. The entire song was played without much editing. I love it!

9.Borrowed Heaven - you can sing along even you don't know the lyrics! You'll feel lifted when you listen to this song. You can say it's spiritual. I'm not sure since i'm not a baptized christian. Very beautiful song.

12.Silver Strand - if you also listen to Yanni's music. This is similar kind of music that they play. It features Andrea's 'La la lala'. You can definitely la along the song if you want.

Overall, you won't regret the production of this album. They put their hearts in it which included their management team. Don't get fooled by the Billboard/MTV charts...true good music doesn't have to be on those charts. The quality of this CD is top notch. Not heavily edited like 'In Blue'. Loaded with plenty of catchy songs that you can play it over and over again. Melodies are unique on each song. So you really won't hear similar tunes ever! I normally don't write album review as a customer. But I decided to write one as a Corrs' fan since they've been in hiatus still. Hoping they'll produce/play good music for us in 08 if not 09. Loyal fans will wait as long as you guys are living well and happy. I got my copy with a cheap price. Support CD quality music and get your own now!!

Also thanks for Amazon and all the users posted great comments on this and other albums. Hope you find my comment useful.
