Vempire Reviews:
A Must Have!!! 5 Star Review
2007-07-28 - I'm a die hard Cradle Of Filth fan. I have all of their albums and DVD concerts. I must say "Vempire" is my favorite album. Every song is awesome. This album is a must have!!! It's a gothic masterpiece. This is Cradle at its best! My personal favorite tracks are "Ebony Dressed For Sunset", "The Forest Whispers My Name" and "Queen Of Winter Throned". If you're a fan of gothic/black metal pick this album up!!! If you're new to Cradle this is a perfect place to start. I highly recommend "Vempire" to any die hard Cradle fan who has not heard this masterpiece.

Spread the Filth!!!

Something I Have Been Waiting For 5 Star Review
2006-07-16 - For years, I have loved Dani Filth's amazing vocals and talent in films. For years, I have been looking for VEMPIRE and I will finally get my hands on it in a couple of weeks thanks to amazon.com. I will have every album excluding Thornography which will be released on September 19, 2006 but when that CD comes out I will have all albums of work and artificial talent by Cradle of Filth.

Beyond a doubt, the best Cradle ever had to offer. 5 Star Review
2006-02-08 - I heard "Cruelty and the Beast" first, in its entirety, and thought it was terrible. Overproduced, corny, overly dramatic... you get the idea. Some people love that stuff. Not me.
I really disliked this band's music, especially the even-more-recent stuff. My friend, an avid fan of the band, gave me a copy of the "Vempire" EP as a gift, telling me that he was sure it would change my opinion. I hate admitting that he was right.
This very short release is absolutely packed with great material. The musicianship and songwriting displayed here amazed me... did they just stop trying? What happened to this band? I can only wonder. The follow-up, "Dusk and Her Embrace," is just awful in comparison. I still haven't heard anything else that I like from these guys. That said, this EP is both a solid release and a great value. Five stars.

The best Cradle offering ever 5 Star Review
2005-03-11 - This may only be an ep, but it was the most ominous harbinger of the beast that would be unleashed on the world known as Cradle of Filth.
This ep was an incredible transition in quality of songwriting from the Principle album, and also the first revelation of Dani's unmistakable and talented voice. In my opinion, Principle was just an attempt to fit into the black metal scene, and revealed little innovation. For this ep, I feel that Dani & Co. just threw all that to the wind, and said "Let's make our own sound" (which unfortunately, many people would later condemn as being pop-like black metal, etc..).
Just listen to the new version of The Forest Whispers My Name compared to the old version: much better!
As another note, the sound quality of this recording was much better than Principle, and even better than the two following masterpieces (Dusk and Cruelty). Only Midian (and subsequent albums) came along to provide the sound quality that a band like Cradle deserves.

Vempire was a refreshing jumpstart to a scene that had begun to stagnate, if not for Cradle of Filth and other innovative bands that would greatly diversify the field of extreme metal to the point we have now, where it is nearly impossible to pigeonhole so many great bands into certain categories.

Cheers to Cradle of Filth for this innovative album that began to demonstrate and suggest the evolution of metal to the point where metal is again recognized as a force to be reckoned with.

First EP In Their Quest Of World Domination! 5 Star Review
2005-03-07 - First off I want to clarify and end this argument seeings how I am always right. This EP is entitled V Empire, not Vempire! Ask Dani Filth himself. Or better yet, read the lyrics for "Ebony Dressed For Sunset", he says it as plain as day. Or even better yet, it is written on the back of the case. Damn I'm good!!!
Anyway, this EP is insane. The opener "Ebony Dressed For Sunset" as mentioned above is heavy as Hell! Then follows the remake of "The Forest Whispers My Name" done with more fury and power. The the epic & grandiose opus "Queen Of Winter, Throned"!
This song is over 10 or 11 minutes, I can't remember. But it goes from heavy riffs to thrashy speed to progressive changes. Absolutely magnificent!!! "Nocturnal Supremacy" has a very "The Forest Whispers My Name" feel in my opinion. Heavy and fast. "She Mourns A Lengthening Shadow" is a great instrumental track and changes pace from the rest of the album. Then you get bitch slapped again by "The Rape And Ruin Of Angels (Hosanna In Extremis)" which ends very dramatically with writhing screams & moans of angels being raped. All in all this is one of the greatest EP's ever created!
