The First Single to Be Lifted from their Third Album 'weathered' is More of the Chart Topping Rock Typical of Creed. The Enhanced Disc features the Video to the Title Track, plus a Take on the Doors 'riders on the Storm' Starring Robbie Kreiger (The Doors) on Keyboards.
My Sacrifice Reviews:
I just want to say hello again... my sacrifice...
2004-08-24 - The song was originally my favorite modern rock song. As time goes by, it is ranked highly although many new good bands have been making their appearances.
Most Creed's songs are thrilling enough starting from as soon as the first listening, and their lyrics usually capture human sentiments quite well compared with other modern rock bands. To me, "My Sacrifice" is about running into an ex-lover and the complex mental collisions resulted from the meeting. The narrator probably still hankers after the lover and fails to get over the sacrifices once made.
When it comes to the melody, it does not stand out from other songs of this genre. What makes it formidable is the vocalist's provoking voice, yet his sound becomes almost a whisper in the bridge, making the climax in the ending dramatic.
"I just want to say hello again... My sacrifice..." How sad but true!
Christian Rock
2003-11-11 - It is so hard to really imagine the stakes within the music industry today. Unfortunately, I could wish the same thing about certain performers. Also, there are some songs from others that make the industry worth all the while. Creed is one of them. The feel of religion in the music makes the feeling a whole lot more unbelieveable. Their song, My Sacrifice, the third single from Weathered, conflicts meeting within yourself for a better look at life. Although the song was important at first, but when you hear it too much, it just kind of drowns itself out into an oblivion. All that I can say to Scott Stapp and the rest of Creed is that they have to keep the music going for new challenges. Hopefully they can try to do that with another smash record.
