Editorial Review:
Baby Bink is out on the town for the day, visiting wondrous places and seeing fantastic sights. The only problem is, he is traveling alone! Frantically hunted by his mother and turned into a celebrity by the media, Baby Bink stays one step ahead of a trio of bumbling con artists eager to collect the reward money being offered by his wealthy parents.
Description of Baby's Day Out:
Only a mother or a certified baby-phile could love this John Hughes comedy (he wrote and coproduced it). Aside from that endorsement, the diaper starts to stink. Baby Bink is kidnapped by three inept crooks, but the child escapes from their hideaway, leading to a chase through the city. Bink's journey follows the story line of his favorite bedtime book, Baby's Day Out, and he goes to a zoo, a construction site, and a retirement center. Hughes is following his accountant's favorite bedtime tale, "Let's rewrite Home Alone again," but with very little of the humor or impact of that smash. A number of scenes center on the crushing or incineration of Joe Mantegna's groin, not exactly family-fare yuks. There are some moments of levity with the crooks and a gorilla. --Keith Simanton
Baby's Day Out Reviews:
if you need a laugh...
2008-09-17 - First - the scene in the park is one of the funniest extended slapstick segments ever commited to film. Next - repeated viewings allow you to pick up on the dialogue - there's tons of funny throwaway lines scattered throughout the movie. Is it great art? No. Is it something that will lift your spirits and leave you happier than when it started? Yes. Basically, it's worth it to spend $10, fast forward to about 55 minutes into it, watch the scene in the park a few times and then put it away again until you have some friends or family over. Guys will definitely have a more over the top reaction than most women or kids, but in general it's good family fare if your kids are 10 or older.
Baby's Day Out
2008-09-02 - This will mostly appeal to very young children or babies. Adults may be slightly bored or appalled watching a baby crawl out windows, through traffic, on skyscrapers, in a Gorillas cage, et cetera. Add in three bumbling idiot kidnappers that get racked between the legs a lot by falling onto things. That's the type of humor you will find in this John Hughes movie that doesn't hold a torch to "Look Who's Talking". I love most of Hughes movies but I was disappointed in this one. There are a few light moments but overall it is not something I would sit through again. If you enjoyed this catch "Andre" and "Dr. Doolittle".

Great funny movie for the family.
2008-05-10 - Great acting it's not, but it's a fun and funny movie for the whole family.
It is a keeper!
2008-03-15 - A baby on the loose, and out-of-luck kidnappers. The storyline is typical of a cartoon feature, but it is well adapted to humans. It is funny to the point of sending the audience running to the bathroom... Unfortunately, all at the same time during the scene at the park.
baby's day out--
2008-03-12 - I love this movie. It is so funny. It keeps me laughing for most of the playtime. I can recommend this movie to the whole family. It isn't a believable movie but is a great show for entertainment! Kidnappers take Baby from his parents only to find out Baby is more of a challenge to keep than they figured.
