Editorial Review:
Recorded at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, an 18,000-capacity sports arena in Paris, on June 14th, 2007. The CD captures the exuberant multi-media spectacle of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's first hometown show in 10 years in front of a capacity crowd of thrilled fans.

Description of Alive 2007:
For fans of brazen electronic music, few acts offer the longevity, consistency, and booty-shakin' insistence of Daft Punk. In a kind of tenth anniversary celebration of the Parisian duo's limited-edition live album Alive 1997, Alive 2007 captures a long and sweaty concert performed before 18,000 hometown fans. There's almost nothing by way of original material here, though the performance culls all of Daft Punk's many notable singles from their uncompromising debut, Homework, the merciless Human After All; and the opulent, seminal Discovery (including lead single "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," which garnered renewed fame as the predominant sample buoying "Stronger," from rapper Kanye West's third album, Graduation). Regardless, devoted Parisians had weathered a full decade without a live performance, and the ecstatic, roof-raising release captured in this recording testifies to Daft Punk's inimitable position as one of the world's top electro-house phenomena. More importantly, perhaps, by fusing two or more "songs" per "track," Alive 2007 pulls off what 2003's remix/rarities album, "Daft Club," could not: namely, mixing the band's back catalogue with the kinetic fervor it deserves. At the end of the day (or the decade), no one does Daft Punk like Daft Punk. --Jason Kirk

Alive 2007 Reviews:
Amazing CD, buy it ASAP 5 Star Review
2008-08-23 - I saw Alive 2007 twice once at Red Rocks theater is Colorado and the 2nd time at Vegoose 2007 in Las Vegas. Both times Daft Punk had an amazing performance and while the CD can't give the full experiance of having the light show, this CD has great quality sound and is Daft Punk's best CD. I've literally listened to this CD over 100 times and I still think it's the best music I've ever heard.

Truly amazing 5 Star Review
2008-07-29 - I am a casual Daft Punk fan and bought this on a whim. It is the best album I have bought in years. They are musical geniuses the way they weave their songs together. They give teasers of songs to come (much like the Grateful Dead used to do) later (like playing a few beats from Around the World) and the crowd goes nuts. The only song of theirs I like that isnt on the album is Digital Love, but I don;t even miss it.. this is a perfect show as recorded. I think best tracks are One More Time/Aerodynamic, Television Rules The Nation / Crescendolls (has the teaser to Around the World), and the final track is great as well.

This is not only one of the best live albums ever.. but simply one of the best albums... But be in a place where you can dance or play it loud!

Better than Ever 5 Star Review
2008-07-25 - Homework, Human After All, and Discovery have all been great or at least mediocre by most peoples standards, but each has had problems. With Alive though, it makes everything song a little be of everything that everybody likes. Another great attribute to this album while you can just choose a song and just listen to that single one, it is so easy just get lost and go through the whole song because of the melting of one song into the another. The album essentially feels as if you are listing to song filled with everything. The album starts of with the simplicity of Robot Rock and just glides so effortlessly into Television Rules the Nation. After hitting up Cresendolls on the journey, you have been so sucked up into the music you have hit every hit they have ever had. What one realized after listening to this album is that there is only one way that Daft Punk could ever make there songs better, by taking two or three great songs and meshing them together into the awesomeness that is Alive!

Daft Punk - Alive 2007 5 Star Review
2008-07-06 - Daft Punk has certainly received mixed reviews in the past and been dished their fair share of ups and downs. One thing is certain, though: If the show that was performed at the Palais Omnisports in Paris was half as good as the album that resulted, the French duo has done more than settle any hard feelings. The album, recorded in June 2007, is their second live album, following their debut album in 1997.
Disappointment was in the air after the release of "Human After All" in 2005, which left fans wanting. Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the artists behind the robot suits and electronic voices, rose to the occasion with "Alive 2007", which captures their stunning performance before a crowd of 18,000. The album's smooth transitions and mixing on songs like "Around the World" and "Harder Better Faster Stronger" transform already innovative music into pure excellence.

Awesome mix 5 Star Review
2008-06-05 - Upon initially receiving this album, I was a little worried it would be repetitive at times like Daft Punk's songs on their other albums. Don't get me wrong I really love Discovery and Human After All (and some from Homework), but I can only handle so much before I get bored.

However, Alive 2007 sounds so amazing. I'm very satisfied with the way they mixed the songs together and changed up some of their sounds. I'm not always articulate with my words, so I'll just say that any Daft Punk fan should love this as well as some others that may normally find them too repetitive. This album makes me crave for more tour dates so I can finally see them live!
