Editorial Review:
Street dancer Thomas Uncles is from the wrong side of the tracks, but his bond with the beautiful Megan White might help the duo realize their dreams as they enter into the mother of all dance battles.
Description of Dance Flick (Unrated):
The spoof movie Dance Flick is the creation of an army of normally funny Wayans men: Damien Dante Wayans directing, from a script written by him and Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and Craig Wayans. Craig Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. star in what should have been, in the tradition of Airplane!, a rich parody of a genre that could use a little spoofing, i.e., earnest dance movies in the vein of High School Musical, Flashdance, and, especially, Save the Last Dance. Damon Wayans Jr. plays a determined, African American hip-hop dancer named Thomas Uncles, who becomes romantically and artistically involved with a white wannabe ballerina (Shoshana Bush in the Julia Stiles role from Last Dance). Dance Flick goofs on Last Dance in obvious and silly ways, but the Wayans also take shots at just about everything that pops into their heads: Twilight, Dick Cheney, the self-consciousness of interracial romance. There are a few laughs, but in the absence of a sustained comic tone and consistently good ideas, the script relies on endless bathroom humor and such throwaway visual ideas as a baby stored in a high school locker. --Tom Keogh

Dance Flick (Unrated) Reviews:
Just a bad movie!
2009-12-15 - I can keep this review simply by saying this movie was very bad! Low brow and not in a good way. Watching this one can easily understand why the scary movie franchise only became funny when the Wayans brothers left and the Zuckers took over!
Dance Flick
2009-12-15 - hi, execellent dance movie to see, i would recommend everyone to see this movie cause i enjoyed it very much.
it was ok but not as god as the wayans can come.
2009-12-03 - kinda corny but does have a few laughs just not enough for me. it cannot compare to im gonna git you sucka, dont be a menace, scary movie or white chicks.
Way Funny
2009-09-21 - This movie was great, it made fun of all the best dance movies that i love including 1 in particular that i didn't really think of as a "dance flick"... TWILIGHT when he tells her she needs to see him in the light and then turns around OMG i almost fell off the couch to funny.. and I'm an avid twifan so ya. The wayans brothers are fantastic in every movie they make or act in together.. One more favorite seen. When Shawn Wayans comes to see his babies mamma, she asks what he wants he says he is here to pick up his son so he goes over picks him up for a second tells him "daddy loves you" sits him back down and tells Essence Atkins (charity) that he will be back next weekend to pick him up again then leaves. Charity shuts the door and says "he's such a good father"... LOL what a great movie LOVE IT
Extremely Funny!!!
2009-09-09 - I thought this movie was extremely hilarious! The Wayans family is back, doing what they do best. I loved all the spoofs, gags, and jokes. Megan White used to be a dancer until she made her mother come to her audition when it was raining. Her mother dies, but she never really got over it. When she moves to the city, she makes friends with Charity, Thomas, a gay boy and a few more. Thomas helps her with dancing, and slowly fall in love with each other. Thomas also owes [...]to Sugar Bear, unless he and his crew can win a dance battle. This movie spoofs Save the Last Dance, Stomp the Yard, Step Up, Hairspray, High School Musical, Ray, and much more. I highly recommend DANCE FLICK!!!
