A review from an Indy Car fan
2007-07-22 - While it is aimed at kids, this little book does a tremendous job of giving you the basic facts of Danica's life. The focus is on the 2005 Indy 500 - the race Danica led with just a few laps to go and eventually finished in fourth place. It also talks about her early career and her family.

Although I am an avid Indy Car fan (been to every Indy 500 since 1986) and my daughter thinks Danica is the coolest woman ever (after her mom), I actually learned a lot about Danica in the book. My only complaint is that although the book was published in late 2006, it talks very little about anything that happened after the Indy 500 in May of 2005.

It is part of a series of books called "Amazing Athletes". Other athletes covered include: Yao Ming, Tony Hawk, Peyton Manning and Derek Jeter.

A great read for elementary age kids!
2006-10-29 - I have to start out by saying that I'm a little biased as my photo appears on the cover. With that said, this is a very informative book about Danica and her racing history that will keep the interest of elementary age kids interested in sports and racing. Not a bad quick read for an adult just wanting to know a little more about Danica's biography (just the facts).

I've been a lifetime fan of open wheel racing and I think few will dispute that she has really increased public interest in the sport. This book serves as a good primer to her life.
