Dream vacation? Dream on! Ren, Louis, and the entire Stevens family battle ferocious squirrels, angry natives -- and one another -- on the adventure of a lifetime. Christy Carlson Romano and Shia LaBeouf star in this hilarious movie inspired by the hit Disney Channel original series. Out of the blue, the Stevens win an all-expense-paid trip to a secluded hideaway on the sunny isle of Mandelino. This is just what they need to get away from everyday stress. Unfortunately, their too-good-to-be-true week in paradise has actually been set up by a new "extreme reality" television series. And in a quest for blockbuster ratings, the show's unscrupulous host will try to turn the family's dream vacation into a savagely funny nightmare!
Description of The Even Stevens Movie:
Capitalizing on the popularity of the Disney Channel's long-running series Even Stevens, The Even Stevens Movie follows the Stevens family in a rare moment of good fortune. Seems they've won a dream vacation to the tropics, but even a free vacation isn't always a dream. There's the usual bumbling by Louis (Shia LeBeouf), but also the family seems to be getting split up and turned against each other. Sure enough, the Stevens family is actually the unsuspecting victim on a reality show called Family Fakeout, and everyone back home in Sacramento is watching every minute of their frustration and misery. Worst of all, Ren (Christy Carlson Romano) seems to have finally met a nice boy, unaware that he's just an actor hired to romance her. The Even Stevens Movie is typically lightweight Disney Channel fare, but it should entertain fans of the series and provides a good showcase for its two young stars, LeBeouf and Romano. --David Horiuchi

2009-05-07 - I bought this movie for my wife because she is a huge Disney fan, I myself am a Shia LeBeouf fan. The movie is really cute and entertaining. Shia LeBeouf and Christy Carlson Romano are humorous to watch as they, brother and sister, seem to try to irritate each other throughout the story. The movie incorporates the whole reality show entertainment that America just seems to love, as the Stevens family gets selected to go on this tropical family vacation which ends up being a front for a hidden reality tv show.
There are some cheesy parts throught out the feature (do realize that it was a made for tv movie) like when Shia completely destroys the natives' sacred temple and when some of the family members are chased down by a rabid squirrel. As with most Disney movies, The Even Stevens Movie contains the concepts of friendship, family, and love.
If you are a fan of the show or of just good, made for tv, family movies than I believe you would enjoy this movie.

Great movie for Even Stevens fans! 
2008-11-29 - If you have ever watched the Even Stevens TV show on the Disney Channel, and liked it, then this is a movie you will definitely enjoy. It's as funny and as crazy as the TV show! All of the original cast is in this movie. However, if your not a Even Stevens fan, then you may not like it. I think that a lot of the enjoyment comes from the fact that we know who the Steven's are from the TV show, and how they act, and if someone hasn't seen the TV show, they may not it is funny.

2005-12-18 - I had never watched the even stevens show so I was bored on afternoon and caught the last 30 minutes of the movie. It was great. Now I've caught 2 episodes of the show It is great. If you are afriad of buying this DVD because you're not sure you're going to like it, go ahead and buy it. it is impossible not to like.
