    Description of Bones: Season Four:
If the fourth season of Bones on DVD gets off to a slightly jumpy start, it's because the first four episodes are missing. They were actually included as a bonus feature on the third season's boxed set, in an effort to pad that truncated season. (However, the Blu-ray version of the fourth season does include all 26 episodes, which originally aired during the 2008-2009 television season.) That said, there's little else to gripe about with this collection. Like many shows revolving around murder, Bones is strewn with body parts--a displaced finger here, a falling leg there. But the gross-out factor often is balanced with humor as Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI special agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) try to figure out whodunit. Though some of the vignettes are on the weak side (a character deciding to become celibate, while another wants to start a family), the overall tone of the show is dead on. This season includes the addition of several new interns, who are vying to fill the spot left by Zack Addy (Eric Millegan). (It was revealed last season that Addy had been working as the apprentice for the serial killer known as Gormogon.) Well developed and also a little eccentric, the interns can give as good as they get as they compete for the job and fit in well with the already established cast.

The cases this season are diverse. One episode delves into the investigation of a pregnant teenage athlete's death that seems to be part of a high school "pregnancy pact," while another finds Brennan and Booth as passengers on a plane where a crisp, burnt body is discovered. And in another, Booth finds himself as the main suspect when a longtime rival is found dead. The simmering chemistry between Brennan and Booth is never lost in the intrigue. Though many TV dramas use the "will they" or "won't they" device to pique viewers' interests, that scenario usually loses momentum by the second or third season. Thanks to some smart writing and sharp acting, this conceit hasn't worn itself out yet on Bones. While the show hints that the two are destined to be together, that plot line isn't exploited this season. --Jae-Ha Kim

    Bones: Season Four Reviews:
Great, but some episodes are missing 4 Star Review
2009-12-28 - For those of you looking for the 3 missing episodes, they are included it at the end of season 3 as "Bonus episodes from season 4". I don't agree with the decision to leave them off season 4 because of this, considering people are paying for and expecting the complete season 4, not a partial. However, I have season 3, so not an issue for me personally, I enjoyed this... so 4 stars. I do understand that they added those on to season three to lengthen it because it was such a short season (writers strike) because they wanted to give fans something more than 16 episodes. Still think it should be on season 4 though.

    Bones 5 Star Review
2009-12-12 - This is still the best show on TV and this disk was worth every penny.

Astoundingly good show 5 Star Review
2009-12-09 - I've watched episodes of "Bones" on TNT and found it to be an astoundingly good show. Seeing the ones I've missed just completes the fun. A mix of whodunit, suspense and humor, wonderfully well written and casted. If the sight of really messed up corpses doesn't disturb you, this is a first-rate production. The interaction between Dr. Brennan (Bones, played by Emily Deschanel)) and Booth, her detective partner, is priceless. Dr. Sweets as a sort of loser psychologist (who does win, often enough), and every one of the other cast members are just great. For me it's a perfect mix of all the elements that make up an engaging show. The wealth of plot twists and great subplot ideas is amazing. I hope it never ends.

Bones season 4 5 Star Review
2009-12-08 - Instead of praising the Bones series, which I love, I would like to praise RicMedia for being so accommidating in helping me when I first found a problem with one of my discs. They fixed the problem at no charge and sent a new one immediatly, and I would reccommend them to anyone.

Bones keeps getting better and better..... 5 Star Review
2009-12-06 - I didn't begin watching this show right off the bat. I remembered David Boreanaz from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and thought, what the heck, David was hot and entertaining, I'll give it a shot. And from the first episode I watched (I think it was season 2) I was hooked. It was sharp, witty, and interesting. I didn't know a lot about the anthropology stuff at first, but I caught on. And the dynamic between Emily and David is fantastic. Shows can go years and years without the chemistry that these two showed! The entire cast is excellent- I wouldn't consider any of them "filler characters" or people I wouldn't give a crap about. The dialogue itself makes the show sometimes.

This DVD set doesn't have a bunch of the extras, but it's done really well. And it has the gag reel, which is second only to watching my favorite episodes.

In short, if Bones is your show, this is your DVD set, and season 4 was your year. Hopefully, it just keeps on getting better.......
