2007-12-24 - I like the music David Cassidy did with the Partridge Family and his earlier solo work. I have literally been a fan of his since I was in grade school.

HOWEVER, on this album he sounds like Cher with a bad head cold. I read somewhere that he was "experimenting with his voice" when these tracks were done. Thank goodness he didn't like the sound, either.



Not Really Classic Songs By Cassidy
2005-03-15 - Although this CD is titled Classic Songs, they are not really classic to David Cassidy. Rumor has it, these songs were recorded by David for a never released LP but then scrapped but these tunes found the light of day on this collection. The only classic here is the up-teenth rendition of "I Think I Love You" and the rest are nice tunes but nothing of any great calibur or substance unless to a diehard fan. "Dirty Work" and "Hurt So Bad" are remakes that are the standout tunes but for the avid David collector these are priceless gems for the meager under $10 price tag. There are much better Cassidy collections out there but this is worth adding for the price.

2004-04-26 - sorry but this one there is nothing really special to it. so i do own it, hardly ever play it though as most of Mr. Cassidy songs are seeming to appear on other cds now a days. like now and then and the second size of blue. it surely would be nice to see Mr. Cassidy do Something new , different. maybe write some songs and then put the lyrics to music and then sing..... hum what an idea.!!

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
2002-07-04 - Recently I ordered quite some CD's of David Cassidy...
At first I didn't order the CD Classic Songs, because of some of the reviews. This CD is rated from five stars to one. Somebody talks about 'the shorty', because the CD only lasts about 30 minutes. I however think that's not important. Ofcourse the longer it lasts, the better, but quality is more important than quantity.
Another reviewer says he totaly dislikes Half Heaven, Half Heartache, because he has the reference to Gene Pitney. I don't know the interpretation of Gene, so this is no reference to me.
I just like the way David sings this song, that keeps repeating itself in my mind.
All the songs on these CD are just great!. I personaly think the only song which is not in place is the Partridge Family song I Think I Love You, because is out of style. This, although I am a real Partridge Family fan!
I think this CD is a great buy. Very nice orchestrations, great vocal harmonies and ofcourse the great Cassidy voice.
What else do you want as a David Cassidy fan? Four stars from me. This would have been five if the Partridge Family song would have been replaced by another great song as the ones you can find on this CD. My recommondation to other fans of David is: Buy it!
