Editorial Review:
Pyromania, Def Leppard's third album originally released in 1983, was the album that took the band to the global stage. Produced by Robert "mutt" Lange, the album sold over 10 million copies in the USA alone and spawned the huge singles "Photograph," "rock of ages" and "Foolin'."
The Deluxe Edition features a remastered version of the original album and a bonus disc of a previously unreleased 15-track show from the La Forum in 1983.
Pyromania [Deluxe Edition] Reviews:
Worth it for the live disc
2009-12-09 - The Deluxe Edition of Pyromania is LOUD. There is an improvement in the clarity of the cymbals, but overall I think the compression takes away from this album. The MFSL Gold disc remains the definitive version of this title.
However, the live disc 2 sounds MUCH better than any previous bootlegs of this same show, and the Deluxe Edition of Pyromania is worth buying for the live disc alone.
Remastered Classic
2009-10-06 - This album kickstarted Def Leppard's commercial success in the US and rightfully so. "Foolin'" "Rock of Ages" and "Photograph" (an original MTV staple from the age) remain popular songs at Def Leppard concerts to this day. Having just seen Def Leppard in concert this past summer, it was especially interesting to hear the bonus tracks (a more or less complete concert from the Pyromania tour in 1983) and appreciate the comparison. The audio quality of the show is excellent, and the band is still young and lean. An excellent example of the genre and of the band itself.
DELUXE
2009-10-04 - finally, a real reason to buy a remaster/re-release.not only is PYROMANIA leps best release but with this deluxe remastered edition the 2nd disk is the la concert from the PYROMANIA TOUR.
A Classic
2009-09-12 - A must have for Def Leppard fans. Their first big hit album. "On Through the Night", their first album, has a different(but good)sound; "High and Dry", their second, had a lot of dubbing, but is still another good one.
I love the 80's
2009-09-12 - The remastered studio disk was a great replacement for my vinyl, yes I still have plenty of vinyl. The live second disk in this set is a collection from Def Lep's first three releases, the production is a little inconsistent but the songs chosen to be on this one are the ultimate Def Lep jams.
