Description of V - The Final Battle:
Though followers of current science fiction television series may dismiss V: The Final Battle as a quaint relic from the pre-computer animation days, the six-hour miniseries about an alien invasion of Earth was a ratings juggernaut for NBC in 1984 and should still provide some entertainment for hard-bitten devotees and fans of '50s-style sci-fi. The Final Battle picks up four months after the shock conclusion of the 1983 prequel miniseries, with a small group of humans known as the Resistance struggling to convince their fellow humans that a fleet of seemingly friendly visitors from space are in fact bent on world domination.

Executive producer Kenneth Johnson (who oversaw most aspects of the first series) only supervised the sequel's script (which underwent several changes before its airing), and the writing occasionally suffers due to the lack of his attention. But the series still delivers its share of action and intrigue, as well as one showstopping gruesome moment involving the birth of interspecies twins. Acting is again a stumbling block, with leads Marc Singer and Faye Grant as bland as any performers from the American International Pictures stable; character actor Michael Ironside makes the strongest impression as a tough Resistance member, and a pre-Freddy Krueger Robert Englund is amusing as a kind-hearted alien. The miniseries was followed by an inevitable weekly series featuring most of the same cast, which was demolished in the ratings by Dallas, but a faithful Resistance-like following remains to this day. --Paul Gaita

V - The Final Battle Reviews:
Conversion chambers, lizard babies, and red dust galore! 5 Star Review
2008-08-18 - V: THE FINAL BATTLE was the much anticipated follow-up to NBC's 1983 mega hit V THE MINISERIES, a science fiction alien invasion piece which doubled as a World War II/Holocaust allegory.

Jane Badler returns as the evil Diana along with Marc Singer as the heroic cameraman turned resistance fighter, Mike Donavan, and Faye Grant as the medical student turned leader of the resistance Juliet Parrish. In Part One, we see the climactic takeover of the Visitors' historical televised address to the world by the resistance in which Juliet Parrish personally exposes John the supreme commander on international television. Part Two shows the tortuous conversion of Julie as well as the highly anticipated birth of Robin's...twins. Part Three shows the deliverance of the miraculous "Red Dust" into the hands of the resistance and the climactic final confrontation aboard Diana's mother ship.

When one recalls the greatest television miniseries, ROOTS comes immediately to mind. So does THE WINDS OF WAR, WAR AND REMEMBRANCE, and SHOGUN. V stands apart from all of these. It was never intended to be serious drama, serious romance, or even serious science fiction for that matter. It was intended to be serious fun! And on that level it succeeded more than your average run-of-the-mill summer blockbuster.

None of the actors in this show went on to bigger and better things, and yet V: THE FINAL BATTLE (or V in general) has earned its place not only among the science fiction greats of television history but also among the great miniseries events of television history as well.

Sci-Fi Television At It's Finest! 4 Star Review
2008-08-10 - And so we have the conclusion to the brilliant first part of the mini-series that enthralled me when I was a kid over 25 years ago and boy was it worth the wait! Who can forget Robin's childbirth of twins for example? Very few television series from my childhood age well but you can count "V" as one of them. The picture quality of this dvd is also very good although not perfect but still better than the first mini-series; the surprising thing though is that the first series dvd came with Dolby Digital Surround sound while this installment comes only in the Mono. Nevertheless, this dvd together with the first mini-series represent the best way to remember the great sci-fi drama and for me I can do without the other follow up episodes which in my opinion were very poor and do not do justice to the "V" franchise.

TV Sci-Fi at its best and a dvd version that will not disappoint although it would be nice to have future restoration done on both the picture and sound quality with good surround sound options perhaps on the Blu-ray format.

    very goood 5 Star Review
2008-07-13 - it was in very good shape and shipping was very fast!!! i would buy from again!!!

    Diana! 5 Star Review
2008-05-12 - *V: The Final Battle* wraps up the original mini-series. This time, Diana is ruthless as she takes control in the mission to dominate Earth and no one will stop her.

Meanwhile, the humans are doing everything to save humanity, including Elizabth, the first human-alien hybrid. However, no one knows if this hybrid child is a blessing or a curse.

Just when things seem to be a dead end for humanity, the underground resistance accidentally uncover a miracle. They discover red dust, which is actually a fatal bacteria which the aliens have no immune defense.

Armed with this new biochemical, the resistance bravely battle Diana and her comrades.

Lots of unknown people here before they became big: Marc Singer, Michael Ironside, Robert Englund and more.

They dont make em like this anymore 5 Star Review
2008-04-22 - I can recall this show being shown in the mid eighties.I loved the original mini series and final battle. Then i saw some episodes from the series.I didnt watch every episode,i caught up with some though.I dont think i appreciated the series as much as i did the fist 2 mini series(The Original Mini Series and Final Battle),although i did enjoy the episodes i saw at the time. Its such a pity it didnt last as long as some of those other Sci-Fi shows.I found every episode entertaining, and at times very exciting. The series that came after the first 2 mini series got increasingly obvious that budgeting must have been a problem. But it must have been a very expensive series to make,as there seemed to be alot of characters,as well as the staging seemed lavish. One thing that amazes me is with all the technology that the aliens had,all they seemed to do was fight one another.Dianna seemed to want to be in complete control of eveything, but the resistance kept upsetting her plans. She was a nasty horrible and at times violent leader, but was also very beautiful...and i think im in love...thats right yet again.Even if she ate mice and birds and other live creatures, each to their own i say,im tolerant. This entire show was excellent.
