Editorial Review:
With over 20 years together and the signature harmonies that have made them a household name, Diamond Rio makes their first foray into the CCM genre with their newest project, 'The Reason.' Having sold 10 million albums in the Country marketplace, their 11th studio album enters Spiritiual territory previously uncharted by the band, leaning heavily on the themes of struggle, trust and the undeniable presence of God in our lives. Co-written by some of CCM's finest (Matthew West, Bernie Herns) standout tracks include 'Reaching For Me,' 'God Is There,' and the patriotic anthem, 'In God We Still Trust.'
The Reason Reviews:
Fantastic album!
2009-12-04 - Wow... this is an amazing album. Diamond Rio's finest hour. The songs really are uplifting and lyrics inspired. I also like the slight change in their tone, expanded to some new styles, yet retaining the classic DR harmonies. Get this album, you'll enjoy it!
Fantastic!
2009-11-27 - What a fantastic cd! These guys are great and finally some serious country music artists are not singing about garbage. I wish more would make Christian albums. Great job!
Great CD
2009-10-30 - The guys have done it again. This is not like thier older music. It is a start to music about our faith.
They are still as good as ever
2009-10-26 - I love their sincerity that comes across in their music and I am so proud of them for choosing to sing songs praising God. They know who to give the thanks too.
Good CD
2009-10-26 - First of all, let me state that I am a BIG fan of the Grand Ole Opry (of which Diamond Rio is a member). I also like Diamond Rio as an individual band. Lastly, I am a Christian and certainly love and appreciate good Gospel music---especially Country Gospel.
So, why only 4 stars instead of 5. Well...basically this:
I would have to seen a big more Country flavor in the recording, rather than CCM which is readily available elsewhere. Yes, there are some Country flavored tunes, but I would have preferred a real strong Country Gospel album. There is so much CCM out there already. Just my opinion----but other than that, it is a great CD.
