White Flag/Paris Reviews:
Amazing talent 5 Star Review
2009-10-16 - I wish Dido was one of those talents who would pump out album after album. Unfortunately for us fans, we all have to wait until she feels it's time for a new album, and agreeably so. For that reason I look for whatever miscellaneous songs I can find from her. I can't say that "Paris" is at the top of my list, but it's not terrible either. It's probably a song that could have been included on her "Safe Trip Home" album because it sounds a little more along the lines of that album. Dido is one of the few performers that you don't always know what to expect and the more you listen to her music, the more you like it. "White Flag" has always been a favorite of mine and you'd be hard pressed to find a song you didn't like on either of her first two albums. "Safe Trip Home" took a little getting used to, but only because it's quite different from her first two albums and that can pretty much be expected from any artist.
If your a big fan of Dido, buy this album for your collection. If you're not a huge fan yet, buy her "Live at Brixton Academy" dvd and you'll become a huge fan overnite. I read somewhere that it is the 13th best live concert dvd ever, and that says a lot for an artist who (at the time it was recorded), only had 2 albums out. An Amazing woman with some amazing talent. ENJOY!

DIdo is just plain hot! 5 Star Review
2008-12-16 - What can I say, Dido rocks my world with her soft sweet voice and heart wrenching lyrics.

Too Expensive 1 Star Review
2007-02-09 - Dido is awesome, but I would not pay $45 for a CD that only have 3 songs. It's in a way ridiculus.

OOPS 3 Star Review
2007-01-15 - I love the song, but didnt realize that this only had the one song on it. There are two different versions of the song but it gets pretty old.

Suprising 4 Star Review
2005-06-06 - For the life of me I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is that makes this artist so appealing. Her lyrics are sophisticated enough, especially on White Flag with an extended metaphor that tugs at your thoughts. Yet, it's the music and her voice that create the real mystery- and magic. The apparent simplicity of the sound, what others have described as "dull" and "boring," I find enchanting. Dido's fetching habit of biting her lyrics off in short spurts is uncommmon in today's hip-hop-influenced world of unending and prolonged phrasing, but it is refreshingly clean and sensual. There's a clarity to this uncluttered styling. Indeed, it is her innocent manner, unfettered by needless repetition or superfluous overproduction, that seems to provide the understandable musical statement. Underneath it all, however, is an indefinable pulse that is both inviting and intriguing.
