Editorial Review:
Jigsaw has disappeared. With his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) and Jeff (Angus Macfadyen) are unaware that they are about to become the latest pawns on his vicious chessboard
Saw III - Unrated (Full Screen Edition) Reviews:
Best of the SAW movles
2009-06-16 - This is how it works for me. Very very simply. First I saw all the SAW movies SAW 5 to. So when I think back. SAW III is the only one I can remember it without getting confused as to if that part was in II or IV or etc. No I got this one down Pat.
So if I said I like SAW 1 cause it was the original or SAW 5 cause it had more gore. I would be lying to myself and you to, probably for some political reason, when deep down in my soul the truth comes out. SAW III was the best or why else can I remember it so vividly over the others I can't?
I want to play a game. Mind game.
2008-07-03 - The ending.... wow. Totally worth the crazyness. Better than #2, but idk if anything was better than the first.
intelligently done
2008-06-05 - This is a well done horror film that makes you think. I liked how certain questions were answered following various clues in the film. I have not seen Saw part I, but this is definately better than Saw II.
This film definately compells the audience to think about deep issues. We all from time to time run into people who we feel have done us wrong and we fantasize about exacting revenge on them. Normal people would experience much emotional pain if and when they see another human being suffering regardless of what he has done. One of the premises of the film is that vengenge does nothing but increase one's emotional pain. Unlike the previous Saw film, the two main test subjects in the film had a choice to be better people than Jigsaw but choose not to. They were so consumed with rage and allowed it to get the best of them.
The people who were kidnapped and placed in various torturing/killing machines were objects of rage for the subjects. The kidnapped people had no control over their fate. Only the test subjects could stop the machines if they wanted to.
People may complain about films like this but if we read the news every day we see that people for the most part behave the same way (if not worse) as they do in this film. Most are under the false impression that vengenge solves anything. In the end of the film Jigsaw smiles as he is about to be killed, because of how rediculously predictable people are.
Almost as good as the first!!!
2007-10-01 - I really liked this movie. I loved Saw, but I was a little disapointed with Saw 2. Saw 3 more than makes up for it! The tests and death scenes are gruesome, and the characters are more likeable and realistic. There are many twists and turns, and I can't wait to see Saw 4! It'll have to be pretty good to keep up to this movie.
Best SAW to date!
2007-07-14 - I'm an avid viewer of horror movies, so I'm not easily impressed or easily entertained.
However, THIS film kept my attention and at certain points, made me realize how craftfully this story was written (and acted).
No empty scares. No meaningless slashings. This is a story of mind games and punishment for the weak or undeserving.
Jigsaw, the main-mean-man, is in rare form, and his sidekick, Amanda, is a nice, rounded character. I loved hating her and felt sorry for her at times.
The tale is layered and deep with theme. The gore is fun and realistic! Love the hog slaughter! The torture devices in this volume are HARSH.
I highly recommend this one for a rainy night at home. However, after watching SAW III, I will wonder if I'm even safe in my own home. Some nut case might be hiding behind a door, waiting to drug me and drag me to his/her torture lair!
