Editorial Review:
2008 reissue of Dokken's 1987 album, Back For The Attack proved to be Dokken's fastest-selling album ever (achieving platinum status shortly after its release), it would prove to be the band's last new studio album until 1995's Dysfunctional. Part of the same Los Angeles pop metal scene that hatched Motley Crue and Ratt, Dokken rocked hard, with a focus on frontman Don Dokken's melodic songwriting and expressive multi-octave vocals and George Lynch's masterful guitar wrangling. Together since the late 1970s, the band made their initial public impact when Elektra Records picked up the band's impressive '83 debut. The label would go on to release three more Dokken Albums--each better than the last--over the course of the next few years.

Back for the Attack
2009-09-23 - This is Dokken's finest hour. Everything they did for Under Lock & Key was just leading up to BFTA. The recordings are fantastic and the production is great. If you like Dokken, you will love Back for the Attack!!!!
great
2009-09-12 - I have been a DOKKEN fan for awhile and just recently bought there first five recordings--Don Dokken his vocals or incredible and what can i say about George Lynch--his guitar playing stands out above the rest--I guess you figured it out I LOVE DOKKEN--hoping to see them on their new tour this year('09)
Best Release
2009-07-20 - I'm listening to the lp right now. I had the original disc but I think the lp sounds better- crisper highs and lows. Enough about the format. This is the best release from the first 4 records. I don't own the first, but the general consensus for that one is that it's not very strong. Back for the Attack is strong, though. There is a maturity to the songwriting which makes sense- they'd been doing it for awhile by the time this came out. Check this out if you're interested in hearing them for the first time, then proceed with Tooth and Nail second and Under Lock and Key afterward. This is the band that had a certain element to the songwriting that most of their contemporaries- Crue, etc. - just didn't seem to have.
