Editorial Review:
Singer Don Dokken says he set out to prove something with Dokken’s tenth studio album, Lightening Strikes Again. Taking its title from a track on the band’s platinum 1985 classic Under Lock & Key, the new songs bring the group’s sound full circle. "It’s time that a band from our era did something special and proved that our brand of music is still valid," he says. "Our goal was to create an album that was our best since our heyday." Dokken returns to the band’s roots for its Rhino debut, Lightening Strikes Again. Mixed by Wyn Davis (Dio, Great White), the album features Don Dokken (vocals), Mick Brown (drums), Jon Levin(guitar), and Barry Sparks (bass). Lightening Strikes Again contains 12 tracks, including the breakout songs, "Standing On The Outside," "Oasis," and "Heart To Stone." The album captures the signature mix of barbed-wire riffs and razor-sharp melodies that made Dokken one of the most dominant creative and commercial forces in the world of melodic hard rock.

Lightning Strikes Again Reviews:
Not lighting, but a small static electric shock 2 Star Review
2009-12-05 - While i've never been a huge Dokken fan, or most cheese rock from the 80's with the exception of maybe Tesla who were always on the heavier side of things, i did "like" dokken, and enjoyed some of there tunes. Kiss of Death was probably the best song, along with Prisoner back in 1986 from Back For The Attack, other than that there were a few ballads that were mediocre throughout the rest of there career. Don Dokken was always a good singer, not a great one, i figure whatever he did back in the 70's that no one heard of remembers was probably far better. Also i never realized Dokken was the same age as Ozzy!! I figured Don to be in his late 40's like the rest of the 80's bands. Well anyways this album to me is just unlistenable, i tried and tried, but had to skip through every song because it became painful to here such weak rock, and they sound so old. Don Dokken has definitely lost his voice, but i think that happened like 15 years ago on Erase the Slate. So does lighting striker? No not at all, this is just a band trying to keep there head above water to "reunite" like all the other bands, and the material is just boring and bland with no energy. The title track with tell you that. So if you like stale boring 80's rock, then this is for you, just prepare to be disappointed. Also the commercial with the Chicken being the hard drive and Dokken being the virus, umm Dokken were never Heavy Metal!! Also my god they look so goofy dressed up in there tights and POOFY HAIR!! NO!! AHHH!! Sorry guys, the 80's are over.:D

Signature Dokken Sound 4 Star Review
2009-09-27 - This is hands down the best Dokken album since Up from the ashes. Pure Dokken from beginning to end, and even when is obvious that the guys did not wanted to go to far from formula some new songs are really great, modern classics. The new guitar player is copying George Lynch note by note, there is not even and attempt of sounding different from the old trouble maker. But, with out that particular sound Dokken is just not Dokken. By the way, for every one listening, is clear that Don has no voice left, a real shame for he was one of the 80's best singers in my opinion. Even with that this is the best Dokken since the original line up, and if it was the last album under his name, you could say the guy when out with a bang.

Attacked Again! 4 Star Review
2009-07-08 - Was I suprised after listening to this CD! This reminded me of the Back for the Attack CD. You would not know that this was not George Lynch if you just listened to the music only. Don's lost his highs but this is expected after rocking for 20 + years!

George who?? 5 Star Review
2009-04-17 - Without a doubt, this is my new favorite Dokken album right behind Under Lock and Key. Jon does a phenomenal job replacing George! The songs are well written, have great riffs and melodies and the band as a whole sounds tight. My iPOD has been stuck on this album since loading it...I have yet to get tired of it. I hope the next album is just as good. 5 stars all the way.

great album 5 Star Review
2009-04-08 - I was hesitant being a big George Lynch fan (musically) but this album sounds like a mixture of Back for the Attack and Under Lock and Key. The new guitarist is excellent and was tuned to sound like Lynch. Don can't hit the high notes as much as in the past but his gravelly vocals on the low notes and his mid-tones sound excellent. Best new album from a classic metal band in a long time. I wish traditional radio would pick something like this up. It deserves it.
