The DVD is expanded with previously unreleased videos including the onetime MTV staple/Nightmare On Elm Street theme "Dream Warriors" and the DVD also includes new expanded interviews with the band.

    Description of Unchain the Night:
Dokken: Unchain the Night includes a cluster of music videos augmented by footage of the heavy metal group on tour a couple decades back, all of which comprised the band’s 1986 home video, Unchain the Night. There’s also a handful of extra videos and an entertaining, 2006 interview with Don Dokken and Mick Brown as they recall funny anecdotes from glory days. In fact, almost everything about the 1986 production, including the music performances and videos, is obsessed with touring: the sacrifices, the loneliness, the madness of it all. There are exceptions, such as "Into the Fire," with its wintry, romantic look, but most of what’s here is more like the unsettling "The Hunter," which presents the image of a touring rocker as a lone wolf, looking for sanctuary but dogged and captured by malevolent forces. "Break the Chains" is partially shot in a crazy, long hallway with the band banging into lanterns, but then weirdly includes the super-imposed image of a girl quoting from a letter the song denounces as insincere. "Alone Again" is another of those between-gigs visions of woeful isolation on the road. It all would be wearing if it weren’t for the obvious wit and intelligence of Dokken and Brown, both then and now. New videos include the interesting "Heaven Sent," which has a certain dream logic to it. --Tom Keogh

    Unchain the Night Reviews:
Cheezy Videos, Great Interview, Old Man's Failing Memory 3 Star Review
2009-09-22 - What more can be said of videos with singer in a komono chained to a bed, the horrible bleeding of the cheap key effect in "In My Dreams", and the flat bed truck video where they drive by the WIGS store, Don's second home. The interviews with Mick are a scream. Don however seems to have an old man's failing memory or is just full of crap. Don state Dokken only did one live album, forgeting the easily forgettable "Live from the Sun" and "One Live Night". Don claims that no one including Dokken aficinados ever heard the song "Liar" even though Liar is the last song on the widely available "Back in the Streets" bootleg. Don also gives more crap about "the new Dokken album returns to the classic Dokken souns" knowing full well that the new album is more faux grunge lite. I like how Don's wears a goofy skull hat so he didn't have to bother putting his wig on, or maybe he realizes how fake it looks on tv. Mick still looks good like he did in the 80's, however Don looks really, really old and haggard, like his own grandad.

dokken, 80s metal dvd 5 Star Review
2009-03-22 - this is a dvd showing the band travel in europe, on the road. then it shows videos of the bands songs. dokken made great metal songs, lynch was a very good guitarist for dokken.

Good Old Days 5 Star Review
2008-05-23 - This dvd brings back memories of the good old days. For the song It's Not Love, they are driving by Tower Records which is no longer there. Great new interviews with Don and Mick.

Awesome Dokken DVD! 5 Star Review
2008-02-25 - This is a real treat! You get all of the music videos, and home movie clips that were with the orignal VHS release. Plus you get four other music videos. One of them being Dream Warriors featuring Freddy Cougar! Deffinitly the best music video that Dokken made! You also get a recent interview wtih Don Dokken, and Wild Mick Brown! They talk about the four bonus music videos, plus the history of the band. It is really cool! I highly recommend this DVD if you are a fan of Dokken!
