Editorial Review:
Doris Day's biggest hit, 'Sentimental Journey' was recorded while she was a vocalist in Les Brown's band in the mid-1940s. Highlights from these two original albums on one compact disc include 'Fly Me To The Moon' and 'The More I See You.' (Collectables)

Doris Day's Sentimental Journey/Latin for Lovers Reviews:
A Sentimental Journey with Doris Day 5 Star Review
2009-04-07 - In the first half of this cd that combines two of the most wonderful of Ms Days albums, the lady returns to her roots with the title song. Sentimental Journey was her first hit back in her Big band Days. This version of "Sentimental Journey is updated from her original. She also more than satisfies with a stunning, understated reading of the classic "At Last." The second half is her album "Latin For Lovers" with songs from the Jobim songbook and from others.
It makes little or no difference what this lady sings.... if you are a fan, she can do no wrong. It is wonderful to be able to hear her once again.
Sentimental Journey? I'd go anywhere with her.

Doris Day Sentimental Journey/Latin for Lovers 5 Star Review
2009-03-19 - This is a wonderful CD with a wide variety of music. I especially loved the Brasilian/Latin music and Doris Day's voice and style is especially nice on this CD.

a very sentimental journey indeed !!! 5 Star Review
2008-04-01 - Doris Day's Sentimental Journey/Latin for Lovers is a very good twofer CD that gives you all the tracks from two of Doris' record albums entitled Doris Day's Sentimental Journey and Latin For Lovers. The sound quality is excellent and I love that artwork!

"The More I See You" is a slow romantic ballad that Doris makes this all her own with her excellent timing and diction. The music to accompany her is just right, too. "I Had The Craziest Dream/I Don't Want To Walk Without You" allows Doris to perform a medley and she never misses a beat! Indeed, Doris bats this straight out of the ballpark! This truly is Doris Day at the peak of her vocal prowess. She sounds wonderful. There's also "I'll Never Smile Again;" this gets a slower tempo than I'm used to but it all holds its own very well. I love it!

"I Remember You" sounds heavenly when Doris gives this the full royal treatment; and the strings enhance the natural beauty of this haunting love song. "I'm Beginning To See The Light" is truly beautiful and much more romantic than ever before when Doris sings this; you're bound to enjoy "I'm Beginning To See The Light" very, very much.

"Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars (Corcovado)" is a Latin flavored ballad that lets Doris show off her excellent ability to perform a Latin ballad with panache, heart and soul. "Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)" also stands out as a major highlight of this album; it's a lovely ballad and Doris never sings a superfluous note! "Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)" has always been one of my very favorite love songs.

"How Insensitive (Insensataez)" has a Brazilian flavor to it that renders this song a masterpiece; and when Doris sings it you'll know this is perfect music for slow dancing with your sweetheart late at night in your living room. "Slightly Out Of Tune (Desafinado)" is equally beautiful and Doris handles the difficult key changes like the pro she was and remains! "Our Day Will Come" also sparkles with romance and the music enhances this number very well.

"Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps (Quizas, Quizas, Quizas)" strikes me with its beauty; Doris sings this with plenty of energy and it all works very well. The album also ends very well with Doris Day performing "Por Favor;" this romantic Latin tune lacks nothing--it's all THAT good.

Doris Day deserves much more recognition that she gets; and this CD proves it. Her fans will be charmed by this CD and people who love classic pop vocals will want this for their collections, too.

Great songs from a 20th century treasure 5 Star Review
2008-01-21 - I really enjoyed the selections included on this disk. They were well performed and arranged. A great addition to your personal library.

good music 4 Star Review
2007-09-21 - The music and delivery was very good, but the shipping envelope was not adequate. The front of the plastic case was cracked in three places. Was disappointed in the shipping material.
